Zeitgeist Zinema 2 — Attraction in Duluth

I really miss the short lived time I had in beautiful Duluth. It was a stormy time of my life when I had the opportunity to try to find myself for the first time ever. Where was I? Of course at the Zietgiest, where I thoroughly enjoyed my first independent film festival and to this day…..words cannot express what an inspiring impact Ilhan Omars’ election film had on me personally. You go girl! That film inspired me to take a risk and get on a train across the country to follow my gut and my heart to carry the torch for something I believed in under the guise of one tough read.

That is the beauty of the special interest film, it touches your soul and the story line never leaves your heart or your memory. In the same building as the theater, they had a great weekend comedy gallery (hopefully they still do) and even an eclectic cocktail and “small bites” lounge. I highly recommend investing a Saturday night at this venue!

A sad note, I apologize I can’t give current info on this venue or Duluth. While I made the journey out west, my dear friend a native of Duluth lost her will to live. It was such devastating news for me following the death of my own family and several friends that I could simply never return. I would like to visit again under other circumstances. The Zinema 2 as always been a pretty cool place, and that has not changed. I do wish they screened more films, but it is nice that I can rent it out for my local classic cinema group and we can watch vintage films on the big screen. The staff is always so amazing, and the place is clean. For some reason their popcorn is extremely delicious, and their beverage selection seems to go over well with the rest of the crew. Once again, I do wish that they would screen more of their classic series or other alternative films which seems to be their niche. I understand staffing is not easy to find, but the more interest we can get in a local business the better. I've been trying to encourage more people to enter my Zenith City Classic Cinema group on both Facebook and Discord, and so far we have a great amount of members and growing every day. The goal is to have a larger amount of people at multiple showings. Reviving these old classics to be displayed in the way they were intended to be displayed is such a cool thing and I very much look forward to continuing to screen these films at...

Usually I have had a great experience here, but tonight was different. I bought 3 tickets to tonight's showing of Parasite, and when the 3 of us got there, we were informed that when you buy Zinema tickets on Fandango, they dont go through to Zinema's ticketing system. Which means that, even though I bought the tickets well in advance, they had already sold out and there were no more seats available. Very disappointing. The cashier guy was very nice and gave us free movie and snack vouchers, but cmon this should never have happened lol. Get your damn online ticket system...
