The Mast General Store is a modern take on the relics of the by gone days where life was a little slower and you would buy everything from a bag of sugar to picking up your mail and having a gas assistant pumping gasoline for your vehicles. The store has a men's and women's clothing department. The clothing is casual for a casual lunch or dinner as well as rugged wear for outdoor activities like camping. As you enter the store, you will see local artisan jewelry. To the left before entering the men's department, you will find Clemson Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks collegiate clothing and accessories for both men and women. I loved looking at all the colorful t-shirts and mugs for women with the happy quotes. The canine and feline section had the most adorable stuffed play toys like smores, ketchup /mustard, and outdoor animals. The candy department is the most popular section and it is located in the back of the store on the right hand side. There you will find a line of eager people with their brown handled baskets standing in line waiting with anticipation to buy all the sweet candy confections from salt water taffy to chocolate covered raisins and so many other sugary treats. There is also a toy department with John Deere metal toy tractors, the original Monopoly game and rows of other toys that can bring smiles to children's faces and grown-ups, too! In the back of the store is an array of local homemade jams, relishes, and honey. This general store has something...

Great selection of locally sourced items from North Carolina,  South Carolina and Tennessee.  Ranging from food stuff to candy to mugs and other kitchen were on the bottom floor to clothing, sweatshirts, and other items supporting local teams on the second floor, you are bound to find what you are looking for here. We love to pick up a few items for welcome baskets for guests when they visit. Recently, we traveled to Connecticut to visit family, and purchased a number of items to bring a bit of The South with us in the form of jams, jellies, ginger candies, licorice all sorts, fragrant candles and soaps, maple syrup, and locally sourced honey. The beautiful pottery is also a favorite and great gift for visiting friends or a great souvenir if you are visiting the area. Be sure to visit their other stores as well. They care a number of vintage ideas that will call upon childhood memories with their tastes and scents of so many items. Kids will love the vintage toy and book section as well as carefully selecting candy to take with them from the huge barrels in the Back of the store. Stop in and check it out and be sure to allow for ample time to explore and walk down memory lane as you are transported to a different...

Mast has a comprehensive selection of outdoor/mountain-man clothing, shoes, accessories, and gear for men, women, and kids. There is also a large housewares section and candy section. Four of of five stars because 1) It would seem more authentic if the products were mostly local, or American made (many of the products are made in China, and many of the brands can be found at REI, Dick's, Cabela's, etc.; and 2) I experienced poor customer service when I returned to the store on the same day as my purchase to exchange a shirt that was stained (didn't see it when I bought it) and to retrieve two items that the cashier forgot to put in my bag. Note I came in with my receipt, six hours after purchase, and I had spoken with three people from the store via phone prior to coming back. Not sure if the guy at the register was an owner or not, but he treated me as though I was trying to pull a fast one on him, and begrudgingly exchanged the shirt/retrieved my paid-for items for me. Mast, adjust the...
