Update 1: I went back for a body balance massage and scalp conditioning as a redo of my first experience. This was a much better experience than my first. The front desk lady, ( cannot remember her name) Is so sweet and wonderful. The massage and scalp addition was great. I do still believe that an add on service should be additional time added to your massage and not done within the original 50 minute service. I will need to come back for the facial redo as they could not fit me in the schedule that day. Will update again.
TLDR: poor experience overall, especially the maternity massage. Never felt relaxed once. Felt more stressed as I had to go into the galleria on a Saturday. Location difficult to get to.
Location: In the galleria - leave plenty of time to arrive and find it as the galleria area is notoriously awful. I ended up arriving about 5 minutes after my service was scheduled to start. They offer complimentary valet parking at neiman marcus which was a nice offer. Ambience is interesting compared to other locations. Not very cozy or warm.
Service 1 - 50 min deep cleanse facial As I said I arrived about 5 minutes late to check in, so after waiting to check in changing in my robe and waiting for my provider I was 25 minutes late. The provider let me know that my service was cut down to only 25 minutes. Ok fair. I ended up getting an express face wash, cleanse mask and moisturizer. No exfoliation, extractions, etc. my pet peeve in facials is not putting anything on the lips on completion. Service ended and I was led back to the waiting room for my next service. Annoyed I still paid full price for this.
Service 2 - 50 min maternity massage w/ hair scalp add on
My last service concluded at 2:50 and I was in the waiting room until 3:35 before my provider came. Had the usual 5 minute discussion and got into the massage bed. I was on my left side for 5 minutes and then switched to my right side for 5 minutes and the rest of the service was on my back, which is the opposite of what you want in a maternity massage. Not comfortable or relaxing at all. The lotion used on my legs made them tingle for a while and my feet were completely ignored. The legs weren’t massaged, just applied lotion. I’ve had 4-5 maternity massages out of my two pregnancies and I’ve never had anyone actually rub my belly. It was gentle but a little strange. Service concluded at 4:18.
Deep hair conditioner: I booked the add on thinking it added time on to the overall service but instead it was completed within the 50 min maternity massage. This left the actual massage being very short and much to be desired. The deep conditioner was just some spray in a bottle and then they brushed it out for 5 min.
Salt room - While waiting in the waiting room between services I was offered the salt room, I said sure but then told it’s an additional charge but discounted. I felt obligated to say yes since it was only $15 and I was put on the spot. After my “massage” they took me into the room and gave me eye googles that messaged me. Salt room was fine, not a big believer in its value. Annoyed I said yes to it.
The two front of house ladies were very friendly and helpful.
I should have complained at check out but I’m a millennial who hates confrontation. I would try another...
Read moreCame here for a couples massage and it was wonderful. The massage itself was professional and relaxing. I did unfortunately feel like the entire “experience” was overpriced. We got the most basic couple’s massage and added aromatherapy for 20 dollars per person. The aromatherapy was basically smelling your chosen sent at the beginning and that’s it. During your massage you can sometimes hear what’s going on outside/ sounds of the mall. That being said, while it was a great massage, the experience wasn’t all that great for the price. The salt room and sauna are not included but they ask you multiple times if you want to add it on. We were walking back to our room after the massage and looked in the sauna to see if we wanted to do it but we were abruptly interrupted by a staff member asking us if we wanted to buy it. At the end, we were immediately asked if we wanted to purchase from a basket of products that were chosen for us. The products and prices were reviewed with us extensively. Then, we were asked to tip 20 or 25% and were not given any other options or a printed receipt to see the total. In total, it came out to over 400 dollars with the aromatherapy and tip. I feel for the price, it is unnecessary to constantly be trying to sell the customer something. It tends to stain a...
Read moreSomeone gave me a gift card for this spa so my bf and I went in yesterday to get a couples massage. When I arrived the lady asked for our ID because we were using a gift card but we both left our IDs in the car. My boyfriend told her to give him a second and he’ll run to the car and get it but she told him it was okay he can grab it after our massage so that it doesn’t cut into our time. We received our massage, got dressed and went to the front to pay. She told him that he can now grab the ID. When he stepped outside 6 officers were waiting on him and handcuffed him because she says that she suspects that we were paying for things with fraudulent cards and that we’d try to run away without paying. Never in my life have I experienced anything like that. It was the most embarrassing and humiliating thing ever. He was handcuffed in the middle of the mall like a criminal and we never even received an apology. He was let go by police and they apologized saying it was a misunderstanding on Woodhouse Spa behalf. I’ll never in my life come back to...
