It's okay, I don't know what else to say about such a small shopping center that's been around since the late 1980s. I often forget it's there even though I've been shopping there for about 35 years on occasion. Currently it has an Acme, a Best Buy which isn't anything spectacular by any means, a Popeye's Chicken, a dollar store where nothing is a dollar. There are other stores in the shopping center but they are too insignificant to even mention because they go in and out of business on a regular basis. Please don't get used to them they're not going to be there. What are the downfalls of the shopping center is for lack of a better way of describing it a alleyway if you will between the Best Buy and the building that once housed Pier 1 imports. It can be a little bit uncomfortable walking down the alleyway when you may encounter panhandlers and homeless people and rats yes I said rats as you get closer to the tt Target which is in a neighboring Shopping Center. The parking lot is more than ample for the stores that are there. Occasionally during windy times is going to be a lot of garbage floating around. It's not really convenient for public transportation as no bus goes to it. It's quite a walk to the Newport Center and Hoboken Light Rail stations. If you live in a section of downtown Hoboken or in areas of downtown Jersey City its walkable. There's nothing particularly outstanding or particularly bad about the shopping center. It's fairly well kept but fairly...
Read moreAs others have mentioned, the parking situation and parking enforcement (King Towing) is an absolute nightmare. Me and my family are actively boycotting Newport Plaza -- as I parked in the Staples for only 1 hour and walked to another plaza and returned to find my car gone, all within 1-hour. Newport Plaza has the towing company circling like hawks, looking to tow any vehicle who's owner they suspect isn't in front of x-specific storefront. They went into Staples and apparently announced my license plate, among others, to ensure I wasn't in the store. As I arrived to see my missing vehicle 3 miles away in JC, another tow truck driver was flagging and towing another vehicle in the lot. Make sure you move your vehicle around to each plaza if you plan to shop at more than one store. Unprofessional, costly, and overall terrible experience. $185 spent because of their terrible parking situation and predatory property management. Avoid...
Read moreThis mall has been around for a while, and it has everything. There is a small AMC Theaters place on the third floor, with reclining chairs. If you ever get hungry, there is a variety of dining options, including fast food, sit-down-and-eat places, and others. There are plenty of stores, including big box retailers and small businesses. During the holiday season, there are always magnanimous decorations put on, making the mall a lively place. Parking is easy to find as well; for a small fee, you can park right next to the mall (in a garage) and then walk. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you just want to hang out, want to shop, or other...
