Run, don't walk away from this sham of a rental car company! They will bait and switch, try to upsell you on everything and then try to rip you off with additional charges when you turn in the car. I originally reserved a mid-size economy car and when I got there, the rep told me he could get me a deal on a convertible Camaro. I don't blame him for the upsell, I accepted and it sounded like a good idea at the time. Meanwhile, I overheard the rep next to me upselling a family to a larger car and telling them something about the bigger engine will provide better air conditioning. I rolled my eyes.
When I turned the car in (fully fueled and cleaned), they told me I had to go to the desk to "close out" the paperwork and get a receipt. I went to the booth at the return area - nobody in there. I walked across the garage to where I picked up the car and gave my papers to the rep in there. She looked at them and punched some stuff into the computer and then told me I had to go upstairs to the reservation desk to pay "additional charges". When I asked her what these charges were, she said she doesn't know. She did say that if there was a long line at the Advantage counter, I could take care of it at the EZ Way counter. I got up there and there was a very long line for Advantage, so I walked over to the EZ counter, but was told they were close, no rep available. I had to go back to Advantage and wait in the long line of people trying to get cars. A woman also coming up from the garage got in line behind me and I asked her if she just returned her car. She said yes but was not given a printed receipt and was told she needed to go to the desk. I let her go in front of me because she had a sooner flight to catch. When the rep looked at her papers he said there was some additional charge. She argued and he looked at it again and then told her they had made a "mistake" and she asked how it happened and he said "it happens" and handed her a receipt. She asked if they got paid extra for "mistakes". His reply was "are you serious?"
I got the same rep and he asked if I had additional charges to pay and I told him that's what they said but couldn't tell me what for. He took my papers to the back room and came back with a receipt and just set it in front of me and moved over to "help" the next victim. I asked if I was all done and he says "Yeah, you're set" No...
Read moreThis company completely scammed me. They send you a link a couple of days before your rental. They ask at that time to provide any insurance coverage information. I filled out all my insurnace information as asked.
When I went to pick up the car the agent told me that I needed ot buy mandatory liability insurance. I explained to her that I had already provided details of my insurance coverage and in fact I also had extra insurance thru my credit card.
When it came time to sign the contract on the machine, the machine was "acting up" so she scrolled thru the contract and told me to initial sign etc.
I left with no paperwork and was told it would be emailed to me.
When I checked my email during my vacation, I noticed I was charged for insurnace and emergency road side (wasn't told about this mandatory charge)
My quote was $166 at time of booking. My bill was over $300. I called their 1800 number and those poor operators. They are trained like animals to say over and over and over again "'I am sorry but insurnace is not refundable after the car leaves the lot".
I didnt matter what question or comment I made, that was the answer I got back.
When I returned the car, I retold my story to the lot attendant. He said, "I am really sorry, I'm embarrassed to be working here, this scam happens all the time ". I will let the manager know that I saw your insurnace and ask him to refund the charge.
I just got my final bill. The insurance charge is still on the bill.
I called the 1800 number again and told them of my return experience and how i was told it happens all the time and that I would be getting a refund. Again the agent went right into her training and told me over and over again the same line as above.
I will be reporting this to my credit card company as fraud and go from there.
I have been renting cars in Vegas for 30 years. NEVER have I had such a terrible experience.
Also they are offsite (not at the regular rental lot) so 2 shuttles are needed to get there.....they don't mention...

We arrived at the airport at midnight only to be told that the vehicle that I had paid for in full not just reserved is not available and that no other alternative that can hold my capacity is there either. Steven stated that luckily I'm staying at the stratosphere and they have a site on location and that I can switch out the rental first thing. I at that point have to get half my family ubered to the hotel. Separating myself to drive and my kids and wife. I arrive at the Advantage counter first thing in the morning and I'm told that Steven didnt check the fleet and there is no vehicle available to accommodate me. My husband is outside and is on the phone with me stating there is a suburban however Patrick is stating it's not in service. The 2 minivans one of them is already rented and one is extremely dirty. I ask Patrick if I've already paid and I'm here why arent they giving that one to me since I've already paid and I'm here, he said he couldn't do that. I said ok then how come you're not offering to clean the extremely dirty one then, he said he is the only one there. I asked him what am I supposed to do, he said he can give me a midsize and I told him that's the same situation I'm in right now. He said he talked to his Manager Nina and they can give me 15% off and a carseat for free. I said well what am I going to do about a vehicle I have 7 people. He didnt have a solution. I told him to just give me the dirty one I need a vehicle. So that was is what we did. He didnt have a solution I know it wasnt his fault but there was a solution and I had to come up with it. I want my money back alot of my time was wasted, I was hugely inconvenienced in the middle of the night and I was never even apologized to, no ownership was taken and my time is worth 15% and my a free carseat rental because you separated my family in the middle...
