Dan's is good in terms of a small city super market. I have been there several times and I am always happy with the options. The store is well stocked and it is clean. Dans offers local brands that can't be found outside this area. The deli prices are comparable to the Safeway down the road but are usually fresher than Safeway. I have no idea if there is a public bathroom. The prices are very reasonable considering Dan's is not a national store or corporate store. My interactions with employees have been positive.
The only down side is Dan's is in a smaller older building and the aisles are narrow. There are only three check out stands when it is busy so sometimes it can take a little longer than might be expected to pay for your items.
The location is conveniently located at the intersection of Chimstick Highway and Highway 2.There is plenty of parking for cars pickups and SUVs but RVs and larger vehicles will need to park off street. Also there is several Tesla...
Read moreIt makes me sad to write this review. I’ve shopped at dans a ton as I was in Leavenworth quite often a few years back. The actual store is great with a kickass deli inside. But DO NOT park here for more than a few minutes or they will be more than happy to tow your car, especially if you have out-of-state plates. I am a travel nurse who lives in Washington, and I’m assuming in efforts to screw over a tourist, they towed my car with Virginia plates after I bought something in the store. To make it worse, the towing company that the owner has decided to hire charged me $700 for a 12 mile tow. When I got to the towing lot, my car was the only one there, despite the fact that there were plenty of other illegally parked cars in the lot that day they could’ve picked out. I tried to call the owner, who was apparently too busy to pick up the phone or call me back. As much as i loved this place, you won’t find me spending another cent here on return visits...
Read moreWe drove by this store a few times and said we have to check this place out, the first time was pretty cool, lots of cool hard to find items and the bakery/deli was great. The second time was the last day of the weekend after the big lighting of downtown, the same employees were working but I guess a local guy came in and had an attitude, stormed back to the deli, didn’t even ask her to grab something out of the case and did it himself, we waited for him to move on and she helped us. Went up front to pay and him and the 2 employees were just bashing on all the people that came to see the lights, said they should just tow everyone’s cars and on and on. If it wasn’t for the visitors you might not have much of a town left, if you’re gonna be bashing on people you might want to see who your audience is around you. I’ll probably skip this store next time and just go to Safeway, they were...
