Either pay $10 for parking or find find parking on the streets. So we originally went to try the garnachas and they were delicious! Definitely recommend. Its 3 for $5 and 7 for $10. They were so tasty and crispy we got 2 of the 7 piece orders to go! Also had to get a pasta from Mr cat pastas! So good and I mean sooo good! We got a fettuccine with Alfredo sauce shrimp, Italian sausage, broccoli, mushrooms and some red pepper for spice. It was freshly made to order and so yummy! $17 plus they give you a side of garlic bread to go with it! We had a cucumber lime agua that was so refreshing and full of flavor! It was $6. Also I had a amazing piece of banana nut bread! It was $5 and it was so moist and tasty. If you like banana bread I would definitely try! Then we tried a carnitas mix taco...with a handmade tortilla and different mix of carnitas meats it was made to perfection the meat was so flavorful juicy and tender. Then last my husband had a strawberry with milk agua $6 and I got a banana agua made like a dessert "michelada" it had whipped cream on top with a sort of chocolate drizzle along the top rim with a mazapan crumble 2 chocolate wafer cookies and a half of another chocolate cream cookie it was soo good and a great way to finish our night. Just the presentation itself is worth buying lol but a big plus it was very delicious! Must try! $10

Stopped by this street food market because I was craving for some street food. There were variety of street food with different vendors every week. The corn with hot Cheetos is my appetizer, and it was tasty as is usual. I found a vendor selling grill steak and bone marrow. I can smell it from afar. The price was not as cheap because of the steak, but it was worth it! They put the meat on a small tortilla, and we can eat it alike tacos. Meat was tender and flavorful. Pupusa was well seasoned, and it was very tasty, especially if you eat it with the salsa. The plantano is my dessert, and it is well made. I like that it is mixed with chocolate syrup and evaporated milk. The vendor selling the plantano also sells churros in a paper bag, and there were a lot inside a bag. I skipped churros because I would not be able to finish it. However, I really wanted to try it because I saw the owner made the dough by hand. Will have to try it next time. There are also vendors selling toys, jewelries, Mexican snacks etc. I had fun walking around. There is a paid parking lot behind next to this night market.

Our first time at the El gato market. We went on mothers day so 1 stall had a $1 promotion for tacos. Their el pastor tacos were very good very filling for the price point. There r many stalls and lights brighten up the entire parking lot that is transformed to a market every weekend. Since it’s a mexican night market lots of vendor don’t really speak english so make sure is correct when u order foods or there could be some confusion like we did. But it’s ok as there r large selection of vendors with hundred of choices. Some stalls also give out samples for u to try. There r some toys stalls for kids too. Overall the price is more affordable than some other outdoor market we’ve been to, tho they dont put the price on the menu tho so u have to ask. It opens late which is a plus so people like me who works on weekend still can come. The place can get packed ( even when we went late theres still large amount of people there) and parking kinda sucks cuz is in dtla ( $15 at the front or find street parking), so come early or ready to curb parking a bit far away.

It might have been my unfortunate night the last time I went with my family, but I experienced some of the worst service from vendors to staff add including other problematic individuals.

That night we went to have tortas with one of the vendors that make oaxacan style food and as we ordered four different plates, we were only given three due to the lack of hearing perhaps? My family and I could see how the vendors tried to work the problem out but unfortunately could not. We did not decide to make a deal out of it, we simply paid and left in disappointment.

Then we went to go get a Mexican style milkshake in a bag with one of the vendors. My mother, being of the mainland, tried the nuez flavor, which was sadly disappointing. I don't think it was worth the $10+ we dropped.

Unfortunately the night ended drastically in shambles due to an altercation we came across with another family there. Parents were nowhere to be seen and a child in a stroller fell back and injured my mother. The family did not take any accountability and the so-called managers did not help. The aggresive tone escalated the situation to the point where we needed that families contact information in case any lawsuit began.

We stand with our people and we believe in compassion, but that day we felt like our suffering did not matter to those that are in relation to the El Gato Night Market staff. But I do appreciate those stand byers who did approach in aid.

Henry, I hope you feel like you truly did what you could to help my family but unfortunately your condescending attitude got us nowhere that night. I hope you work on your customer service skills or perhaps find a new line of work because your actions did not give "helping others" they gave "as long as I'm not in trouble" and that is profoundly sad in...

I've been waiting to try this El Gato night market for the longest time I live in San Diego went to LA to try this when we got there it was only a few things open the biggest thing I wanted to try was the Dubai strawberry cup it wasn't even open and there wasn't much of a selection when we got there it was only like maybe three things open that was really disappointed maybe if I would have got in there a lot later but if it says it opens at a certain time you expect everything to be open we walked around like three times within 2 minutes it wasn't very big at all from the hype on tik tok I thought it was going to be really big or maybe at least a half a block long or something we had a park blocks away and the only parking that was close you had to pay for parking and it was like $40 I was not going to pay $40 to maybe be there 5 minutes I finally after driving around for about 20 minutes found parking on the street I won't even go back to see if it's better later in the evening sorry that I had to give this kind of review but like I said they made it seem like it was this marvelous place and I wanted to go there to support the vendors there you can't support somewhere where it's not open sorry maybe in the future if I ever did decide to try to even go back maybe I can give a better review next time but right now this is the only kind of review I can give I'm really sorry cuz I was looking really forward to this place and for my one-time experience it was a really disappointment...
