Imagine yourself strolling down the lively streets of Milwaukee, minding your own business, when something catches your eye, gleaming in the sunlight. You squint, and there it is—a bronze statue of none other than The Fonz, Henry Winkler’s iconic character from Happy Days. Standing cool with his thumbs up, leather jacket on point, and that signature smirk, the Fonz captures everything about effortless swagger and '70s charm. It’s like he’s lookin’ at you, sayin’ “Ayyyy!” in that way only the Fonz could.

The statue is not only a tribute to a TV legend but also a reminder of Milwaukee’s role as the backdrop for a cultural phenomenon. Visitors crowd around, smiling and posing with the bronze cool cat, adding their own slice of nostalgia. It’s a place where the past and present meet, and for a moment, you feel like you’ve stepped back into simpler times, where the Fonz reigns supreme. It would have been nice to have seen Laverne and Shirley as well, but definitely check this out if...

The Bronze Fonz is definitely something you should check out if you visit the Milwaukee RiverWalk. It's a bronze statue of "The Fonz" played by Henry Winkler in the "Happy Days" TV show from the 1970s . I was surprised that the statue is so short but my research revealed that Henry Winkler is on the short side -- he's 5'6".

This is one of the Milwaukee attractions you only have to spend a few minutes visiting. Stand next to the Fonz, give a thumbs up sign and take your photo posing next to the Fonz. If you do visit hang out a bit longer and watch the RiverWalk area bridges get raised for larger boats passing by.

If you're familiar with 1970's TV shows set in Milwaukee you'll remember the old "Laverne & Shirley" show. I'm not aware of any RiverWalk statues honoring those characters, but there IS a "Laverne & Shirley's Milwaukee" half-day tour. It stops at a brewery (of course) and at the Bronze Fonz and other Milwaukee...

It was a 9 degree dusk. Drove up from Rockford, IL just to say I was in Milwaukee. Did a search, what is there to do in Milwaukee? Museums and other things came up but it was past five on a Sunday so no Pabst Mansion. What to do, what to do. I mean I don't just want to go there, step outside of the car, and get back in. So I thought...Milwaukee... Milwaukee!!! Happy Days!!! Low and behold, the Bronze Fonz. Plugged it into the Garmin and away we went. Parked a block away, walked down the hill. Got to the bridge and saw it across the street on the opposite side of the river from Rock Bottom. Stood next to it, got my picture. It's life size and boy is the Fonz tiny. I still wouldn't want to upset him because he could Carmine Ragusa my butt. So, I can say I've been...

Eyyy-take a stroll and say hi to the Fonz. Just south of the Milwaukee Public Market, this little walk is well worth your time. The Riverwalk is lined with surprises, from the beloved duck statue Millie to unexpectedly gorgeous architecture-yes, even the Planet Fitness building is a visual treat. As for the Bronze Fonz himself? He’s more than a nostalgic photo op. This old icon has become something of a mascot for Milwaukee’s vibe: laid-back, friendly, and ready to pose. A quick visit, a couple of laughs, and a solid reminder to chill and enjoy the city-ayyy.
