Awi Sushi — Restaurant in Milwaukee

Visited Awi after the 2024 MSOE commencement ceremony. We had no expectations going in, only high hopes based on other reviews and photos. They did not disappoint! Immediately entering, we were greeted by Charity who made us feel welcomed and informed us of the many options from apps to rolls to teriyaki bowls. Excellent service/staff experience. Of note: while the house salad sounds like the typical lettuce with ginger dressing, Awi's dressing is more like a creamy ginger - different but still good, might not be for everyone based on expectations. Seaweed salad was good, and was served in a large boat, more than expected for an app. As we had a large party we had several rolls. All were very good. Fresh and flavourful. Stopped by for a quick bite with a networking partner and this place did not disappoint. The food was amazing. They had a huge selection option and we had a hard time choosing as everything looked so good. We ended up getting the popcorn lobster roll and Spring Ahi tower, which was BOMB!!! We loved it. The popcorn lobster was so warm and creamy, it just melted in my mouth. The spring ahi was so fresh, it felt like eating tuna off the boat. We were so wowed. The service was spectacular. The sushi was good and fresh I loved the lion king roll and the tuna tower the space is very quaint but cute. I went in for a solo late lunch date because when I googled best sushi this place came up and wasn’t far from where I’m staying.
