Concorde is a masterpiece. Intrepid is lucky to have her. She is one of only 14 commercial models ever built and flown (there were six other prototypes, 20 in all). Put aside all the baggage of scandal, including cost overruns and the controversies over sonic boom, her being limited to flying routes only over water because of the latter. Think of her only in terms of the engineering challenges her designers ultimately overcame and that she could make the run between NYC and London in 3 hours (the record a few minutes less than that). And consider that this marvelous---if extremely expensive to build, fly and operate---aircraft was designed and built in the 1960s, flew in '69 and began regularly flying passengers in the mid-1970s, wow. She is beautiful to walk around, which is included with your general admission but everyone that loves aviation should at least once buy a ticket to walk through her. True, the leather seats are lovely but the real treat I remember was the complexity of the flight deck (see photo). So many analog switches, felt like it was double the number of a standard jetliner of the '70s. I paddle next door at Manhattan kayak and never tire of seeing her lines from the river, she always signals that I'm close to home when on a long...

You are going to be seated as a Concord passengers for about an hour while the guide is going to tell you the history of Concord and bunch of interesting facts and to show pictures which can easily be found in internet. You can ask and get answer on any question in regards to this aircraft. The tour is $20. Of course you will be able to explore the cabin and the flight deck after the lecture. Absolutely worth it mostly for the chance to...

Great to be able to see and sit in the plane that set the record. It really is a shame that it no longer flies. If you book a tour you get a 20 minute explanation about the plane while sitting in first class of course. If you wish to do the concorde experience book your tickets as there are not many seats so not many people can do it at a given time. Sitting under the plane...
