I had my second appointment in early February after having a great first appointment in December. After so many years trying to find a good colorist, I was excited to find someone after my last colorist moved away.
When I got to my appointment, I let the stylist know that I was there for a root touch up. I told them that I loved what was done last time, so I wanted to replicate that. The appointment went on as normal, but when they were drying my hair, I noticed that my root was not the same color as the rest of my hair. They mentioned it looking "so nice" that way, but nothing else. They checked in on how I was doing throughout, but it wasn't until the end of the appointment that I was asked if I wanted anything "tweaked". I was honest and said that it was fine, but for next time, I didn't want the root that color, I wanted my whole head to be the same color. I said that I would try it out for a few days to see how I felt about it but we didn't need to fix it just this second. Frankly, I was so sad to see it be not what I wanted, that I just wanted to leave. They made a comment about the developer and left it at that.
When I got home, and saw it in natural lighting, I noticed that my root was basically still brown with a copper tint on it. Very different from what they did in December. I knew that it would wash out of my hair immediately (and it has), and more importantly, it wasn't what I wanted, what I asked for, or what I paid for. I texted the stylist asking for them to please fix it and mentioned the comment they made about the developer (what I understood at the chair is that they used a lower developer than the last time. I could have misunderstood what they meant, but this is what I understood they said at the time). They said they could fix it, gave me an open slot suggestion, and said that they did not do anything different this session. I responded saying that the suggested time didn't work for me, and gave suggestions on when I was available. I then specified that I only mentioned the comment because it's what they said (again, what I understood they meant) at the chair (I though that was the cause of the different result). After that, the only response I got was them saying once again that they didn't do anything different, and that they did the same thing as the last time. That was the last I heard of the stylist. This was weeks ago.
Like I mentioned many times before, it's entirely possible that I misunderstood the comment that was made at the chair. However, the insistence in correcting me without explaining what actually caused my hair to be so different than the first time, and/or simply explaining what they actually meant with the comment, made an already unpleasant experience, worse. I specifically said that I was only making the comment because it was what I heard them say to me. Instead of trying to rectify the situation and explaining to me how it was that I misunderstood, they dug their heels in and just repeated how they "didn't do anything different", and did not even attempt to continue scheduling the fix. It's frustrating to be told that they did the "same thing" as last time when you get such drastically different results.
I will not be returning to Little Lion salon. I hope stylists better their customer care skills so this doesn't...
Read moreI had went full platinum blonde/teal/pink 5 years ago and am understandably hesitant to dye my hair blonde again due to fear of breakage and uneven lifting. After a few years of playing with the idea of a full-head balayage with money pieces framing the face, I finally pulled the trigger and Ally Mammana made my inspiration a reality.
Ally is transparent and mindfully walks me through her thought process on each step. She is in tune with her clients and makes sure to ask you what you want, manages your expectations and gets you as close to what you are aiming for or better. It felt like just chatting with a friend. She made the 4-hour process an absolute breeze (granted I mostly sat there).
She was able to get me balayage-blonde while maintaining my hair’s integrity, and even suggested adding a brown at my roots to help blend it better. I appreciate her patience and attention to detail throughout. Ally asked me how I wanted to style my hair and curling my new blonde locks made me look and feel even more fabulous.
I have gotten lots of compliments so far on the new look and I haven’t been able to keep from checking myself out in the mirror. Thank you again Ally and cannot wait to check in for...
Read moreIt was my first time trying out Little Lion Salon and I will definitely be back. Upon arriving, I was warmly welcomed and offered something to drink which is always a nice touch. Gail, my stylist, sat with me prior to starting to better understand the goals I was trying to achieve with the hair cut and styling. As someone that tends to be shy in these situations, I really appreciated that she would periodically checking in on me to make sure I liked what I saw thus far and gave me the opportunity to speak up.
However, it is Gail’s attention to detail that will keep me coming back. She is a magician when it comes to creating an effortless naturally lived in color. When I came in, my hair completely damaged from the last job, filled with split ends and a washed out blonde color. I specifically asked for the color transition to be subtle and for the highlights to not have alot of contrast against my dark hair. Gail was able to achieve just what I was looking for, a more natural color that still had dimension. I am someone who is rarely content with hair coloring but I can genuinely say I am so happy with my new hair. It has given me a new sense...
