Beware of Rego Center’s Corrupt and Outdated Parking System – An Unethical Money Trap

Rego Center may offer a decent variety of stores, but the overall experience is severely undermined by the toxic combination of an indifferent local crowd and an exploitative, backward parking management system.

Let’s talk about the real issue: the parking company operating here is either shockingly behind the times or willfully corrupt. In 2025, most modern malls—including nearby QCM and Atlas Park—have implemented license plate recognition systems that allow patrons to enter and pay seamlessly, whether or not they retain their physical ticket. This isn’t new technology. It’s basic courtesy and efficiency.

Rego Center, on the other hand, is stuck in the past—or worse, banking on outdated tech as a pretext to bleed patrons dry. I paid $2 for my short visit. Unfortunately, I lost the physical ticket, assuming, like any reasonable customer would, that they’d have the technology in place to verify my payment. Instead, I was forced to pay an additional $24 under the guise of a “lost ticket” penalty, despite already having paid.

What’s worse? A staff member casually instructed me to physically lift and damage their gate if I didn’t want to pay again. That’s not just absurd—it’s dangerous, unethical, and indicative of how little respect they have for their own systems or their patrons.

This isn’t a parking policy—it’s a scam. And I will be formally disputing the charge on the grounds of coercion and double billing. Security cameras, timestamps, and modern verification methods exist. Choosing not to use them isn’t just lazy—it’s predatory.

If you value integrity, transparency, and basic customer respect, avoid Rego Center entirely. You’ll find far better service and peace of mind at Queens Center Mall, Atlas Park, or virtually any other Long Island shopping center that actually respects...

Rego Center is a shopping mall located in Queens, New York. It has a variety of stores, including popular chain retailers like Macy's, JCPenney, and Old Navy, as well as smaller shops and restaurants. Here is a brief review of Rego Center:

Pros:

Convenient Location: Rego Center is located in a highly accessible area of Queens, making it easy to reach by car or public transportation. Variety of Stores: There are a wide variety of stores and restaurants at Rego Center, including many popular brands and chain retailers. Parking: The mall has a large parking lot that is free for shoppers, which is a nice perk in a city where parking can be expensive and difficult to find. Cons:

Crowded: The mall can get quite crowded, especially on weekends or during holidays. Limited seating: There are not many places to sit and rest throughout the mall, which can be a problem for shoppers who need to take a break. Noisy: The mall can be quite noisy, with music and announcements playing loudly throughout the day. Overall, Rego Center is a decent shopping mall with a good variety of stores and restaurants. However, it can get crowded and noisy, and there are limited places to sit and rest. If you are looking for a convenient place to shop in Queens, Rego Center is worth...

I recently went shopping for household goods and clothing, Unfortunately, the restrooms are closed and only open to the staff of the store although the signs indicate that it is for members, only the staff of the store have the keys, which they always say no. Previous years were for the general public, I understand that inflation and the crisis is on the rise, but I didn't expect the bathrooms to be closed to the public... Too bad for Burlington from the 3rd floor.

I love this mall because it's mostly outdoors with stores inside too and it's not over-developed like a lot of malls. You have Costco, Payless, Kohls, Marshalls, Petco, Staples, Century 21 and a lot more stores and for food you have BBQs, Chipotle, Miller Ale House, Subways, and a few other places including desert specialty shops. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor parking with shopper friendly rates. There is something for everyone at this mall.
