WHERE; 12/25/15 today at Regal Cinema in Newnan, Ga. Me and my family 2 adults & 2 kids were escorted out by 2 police officers one named Milam and the GM Samuel Cooper about 4pm.
REASON; This review is being posted due the the corporate phone number that the GM Samuel Cooper gave me not being able to get through to nor even being able to leave a messege. The GM Samuel Cooper said that "whomever files a complaint about threats of viloence first then the other party will be escorted out."
ACTION; A lady and her teenage daughter repeatedly kick my 9yr old daughters chair. As a parent I had to make a decision, to disturb all the other movie goers experience because we couldn't move anywhere else (StarWars) or politely ask the parents to stop. Well, I calmly asked both parents if they would stop and that my daughters head is being rocked back and forth because of it, we'll the mom began screaming and got in my face, using suggestive racial slurs and threats towards my family. Me nor my fam reacted back after her tirade however the mom left and filed a complaint against us instead to the GM Samuel Cooper and the 2 officers. Her complaint was a complete false accusation where she stated I physically assaulted her.
My family was embarrassed in front of a hundred or people in the hallway while the 2 officers stood against the opposing wall and the GM Samuel Cooper stated the unpleasant and criminal language I was being accused of while people passed and my children were in tears. I rarely, actually have never been one to "pull the race card" as they say. This, was however clearly targeted at my family (African americans) being punished because the Caucasian American family firmly requested to the GM of regal in ashley park with the women's wild accusation (by the way her husband was so embassed by her he was nowhere to be seen) This disgusted my family and my wife as we had to prepare for the very difficult discussion with our distraught children when we returned home.
STOOD MY GROUND; After speaking with the GM Samuel Cooper, I intelligently conveyed to him what really happened and why the other party should be escorted out. After I spoke to him at the refund booth, GM Samuel Cooper offered more incetives to keep me from complaining to corporate. Thats why I would not except a different show time and free tickets from him after he knew that I was in the right and he repeatedly backtracked such as saying "the lady did not file complaint in front of the officers, but just in front of himself" and follow by other excuses why we were escorted out by officers. I told GM Samuel Cooper he should've immediately spoke about such allege acts or disturbances somewhere privately and that both parties shouldve been escorted out by officers. I personaly had to escort the GM Samuel Cooper to the refund booth while the 2 officers and my fam tailed behind and I had repeatedly asked for GM Samuel Cooper to refrain from speaking any further about such things against my family. What an embarrassment! Officer Milam was professional and polite and stated, that "if a crime was commited, it would have been a different outcome therefore no crime was commited because no crime was made besides the false accusations by this woman and her wild imagination. This was an internal decision by regal cinemas manager Sam Cooper to remove our family...
Read moreWith the release of the Wakanda Forever film I wanted to try a new theater outside of the city. During my search I landed on the Regal Georgian and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did!
Pulling up to the theater I was super excited by all the shops and eateries that surround the theater. The entire area presents a visual attraction and causes your mind to race on finding a reason to go to all the stores. LoL! When you get to the theater itself, it looks like a still shot from a movie. The outside has a trendy design of clean lines and simple add-ons. The traditional Regal look pairs well with the flow of the shopping center as a whole. Furthermore, though the look is up to date, the area puts you in the mind of “old town” living. (Think of the shopping centers you see in the Hallmark and Lifetime Holiday Movies. LoL!) It makes you just want to walk the strip as you sip on your favorite coffee or tea. (Sidenote, I love the feel of this location)
I purchased my tickets online allowing me to bypass the Box Office. As I walked in I was instantly taken into Regal Movie mode as the decor and setup is the traditional look and feel of the Regal brand.
Walking up to the concession stand every register was open. Though there was a lot going on the staff looked cool, calm, and presented in control of their line. The young man who helped me was awesome. Though I only ordered popcorn, water, and candy, which took all of maybe 3-4 minutes, he was able to welcome me, engage in light conversation, and thank me for coming all while not missing a beat on my order and successfully multi-tasking. It’s apparent that he had a groove that works and I appreciate that.
Once in the screen area (screen 7) I fell in love with the seats. LoL! They are huge and overly comfortable. To say I was cozy would be an understatement. LoL! The screen area was super clean and smelled fresh. I think everyone appreciates not having to smell old butter, old popcorn, and the remnants of the previous showing.
Overall this was a truly pleasing experience. The staff. The ease of the website purchase. The fresh popcorn and the AMAZING Seats afforded me an above average movie goer experience. My only drawback is that the menu was minimal (this was 11/11/22). Outside of the popcorn and nachos, there were no other food options which seemed odd as there was a picture of a hot dog on the screen yet, there wasn’t a hot dog on the menu. LoL! (can you tell I was hungry. HeHeHe)
As a whole, I fully recommend you adding this location to your favorite list for when you want an outside of the city...
Read moreThey turned off my movie and refused to give me a refund or credit:
I prepaid for a movie tonight through the app about 3 hours ago. My seat was D6 in auditorium 11. The movie was “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” showing at 10:10PM. I showed up 10 minutes late. I had the theatre to myself. And then the movie turned off.
An employee at the front, Maddox, said that they would have to restart the movie, but offered for me to speak with the manager to see if that was a possibility.
The manager was extremely rude to me. She said the computers were down (because she didn’t want to fire them back up) and told me to pound sand. She refused to give me a refund and refused to write on a piece of paper for tomorrow’s staff that they could give me an “I Owe You”.
I got upset and told her that she is essentially stealing from me. She said, “you are going to have to take it down three notches. I’M TRYING TO HELP YOU.”
calmly said, “Thank you. How are you going to try to help me?” Then she had the gaul to say, “There is nothing I can do.” I pressed one more time and held her accountable in front of two other staff members. I said, “ you just told me that you were TRYING, but really you are not trying at all.” Then she said, “Goodbye!” And turned around and walked off.
I am extremely disappointed and would appreciate it if the boss of the manager would do something to correct this. Essentially you guys stole money from me.
I will mention Maddox. In my book he is a 5 out of 5 tonight a. He sincerely apologized twice on behalf of his manager who was being extremely rude to me. I’m surprised that your leadership is so disrespectful … Maddox was the only one who showed me compassion tonight. I’m still upset though.
I will add one more thing- I have spent over $100 in the past few months. I should be treated a little better than “There is nothing I can do” right after saying “I’m trying to help you”. She...
