My wife and I attended a wedding here recently for a good college friend. We were excited about the location and to get to see some familiar faces that have been missing from our lives for a while.
The rustic brick face and open volume of the main event space was a nice setting to have a wedding reception in. It also had a lot of room for a large group and great views north and to the west.
The patio has a great view of the surrounding low skyline to the east and ample space for seating.
After attending all the important functions many people began to leave immediately.
Where this place loses stars are: 1- The wedding reception was near impossible to sit through. Everyone was sweating non-stop through the entire reception portion of the event. It is clear that the A/C is either malfunctioning or not sized correctly to handle events with as many people as are allowed in that space. I know this, because I work in architecture. All the doors were closed, and the A/C was running at full blast. Something is not calibrated correctly for that space.
2- The patio, while offering a great view and ample space, had no wind protection, so the groom and bride were subject to haptic wind buffeting that made their veil and flowers go awry and the microphones give feed back or malfunction. We heard maybe 1/3 of the ceremony and there were many pauses for the entire ceremony to refix flowers and veils.
3- There was little to no signage to guide people from the parking lots and where to go upon entrance to the building. We, among many other attendees, went to the wrong floor, and were confused as to...
Read moreThis venue is definitely gorgeous, but the staff is not great. Make sure to keep your payment until the latest day required. Once they have it, you can’t reach them again. They locked the doors to our wedding RIGHT at event time, said we said to, we did NOT. We had family miss the entire thing for getting there 3 min late. My husband and his father had to put the signs out that said “Skyline” after we had several people confused about where to enter. They were supposed to do that. We paid EXTRA to have more bartenders and booze…plus they received several jars full of tips…they ran out of alcohol at 8:30 (wedding was at 6), plus TWO more times. We paid to have the venue until midnight. The bar staff told our DJ at 10:30 that WE requested to start shutting down. Again, we had NOT. There was a long line the entire night for drinks. There’s only one fridge, that you can’t go to alone, making doing our own food very difficult. Take anything you’ll need to decorate (stepstools, tape, hooks). They have none. The lady who helped during the day was the only shining part from the staff. Only mistake she made was sending out bridal party out before my mom was even seated. Hope this helps...
Read moreWe had our wedding back in March and I feel so bad I forgot to review! Amanda Staples made our wedding beautiful! We had several hiccups with vendors that occurred on our wedding day and she saved the day! She was not hired as our wedding planner but she helped us out so many times by sharing her expertise. She was so responsive to emails throughout the process of wedding planning, you would be lucky to have her assist you. I would have married her too if I could! The venue was well worth the price! Friends still tell us how much they loved our wedding. We want to come back when we hit our 10 year...
