I would love to say this was a great experience, however, the way they advertise this alone may be their worst enemy: “Actors with more than two decades of experience in theatre, film & improv.” That sets people up with expectations way beyond what we experienced. Maybe it was an off weekend, I don’t know. But there wasn’t any true acting. It was apparent that anyone who could memorize anything could walk in, say a few lines without true dedication to character & walk out. I think, also, with this COVID crud going around, so many don’t go out as much as we used to. (Not as much to do anymore either with businesses closing!) So I guess I’d hoped there’d been more effort to really entertain on behalf of the “actors.” They also didn’t do much to get the whole room involved. They had a couple of people stand up, but it would’ve been great to involve every table in that way somehow. Maybe have two tables team up even. I will say we ended up loving our table. The people we sat by were lovely & we will see one of them again later this month. The food wasn’t bad at all, fish was ok, chicken wasn’t dry or bad as previous reviews had stated, & the cheesecake was phenomenal (but who doesn’t love cheesecake). As far as a “four course meal”...we never saw that either, though it’s what they advertise. We received our dinner dish, a hard bread roll, the cheesecake & were offered coffee. Maybe that’s what they consider the four course meal. Unfortunately we will not return unless we hear they’ve improved tremendously. Some have reviewed cheesy. I can take cheesy. This was worse than that. When it seems as though some true preparation was taken, & they’re really wanting to entertain (which is why we we were all there), instead of being left to ourselves to eat & talk amongst ourselves 95% of the time, that is when we will be back. Until then, we might as well go to dinner at one of our favorite...
Read moreI attended last night with my mom for her birthday gift, we had a good time together but the whole event was poorly organized, the food was so so, table service could have been way better, the host wasn't out in the lobby consistently when people were arriving, didn't know what to do, wasn't allowed to start checking in until 6:00 pm, I thought the show was already supposed to start then, wasn't told upon entry about appetizers only about a paid bar that we were allowed to purchase drinks before entering the room, as he was talking after we entered the room, he finally announced appetizers and some people got up and got in line, he got upset about it and said why are people in line, come sit back down! I thought that wasn't right at all, then the person who solved the mystery, didn't reveal how she did nor was her paper read out loud to us about how she solved it but yet other papers were ready out loud that didn't win, kinda sketchy about that, that's a mystery in itself if you ask me! We didn't know anything about the characters really to link the person to the crime, nor did we even know everyones name's and background information for the game, nobody left the room at the time of the murder, all the lights were on and you could see clearly if anyone left or not, so didn't make sense to me, I honestly thought the host was the murderer bc he was gone out of the room at the time the person came staggering in all bloody but he said the murderer is wearing a name tag and he wasn't, clues didn't make sense to pin point anyone so could use some tweaking and tune up for future shows, could be a lot better, it...
Read moreThe hotel was beautiful, the food was good, but the show was horrible. The actors were high energy, but the dialogue was AWFUL. One of the actors kept making vulgar comments. Some of the innuendo was funny, but as the night dragged on the innuendo became blatant unfunny vulgarity. It was so boring, and went over by half an hour. One of the actors kept saying "her" instead of "him" about the "victim." I couldn't tell if it was on purpose or a mistake. It seemed like a mistake, and made the whole thing rather confusing. They also didn't tell you that cash tips for the actors was expected until you got there (although, later I realized it was on the confirmation email at the very bottom), and the ATM in the lobby of the hotel did not work with my card. Not only was the ticket price way too much for the show, but sodas as well as alcohol were not included, there was little to no street parking--had to use a rather expensive valet, AND you were expected to tips the actors. It cost us way more than $100.00 per person....
