I’m OKC for a work conference. I freely admit that I am a beer snob and as such, I seek out local craft breweries whenever I go somewhere new. Bricktown Brewery was the closest to my hotel. First impressions were great! Good atmosphere, and a decent menu with food and beer choices for everyone. I chose to start with a hazy IPA (my favorite kind). Told the nice server that I was hoping to try 4-5 different beers before leaving. They are brewed in-house. Also ordered a hatch chili hamburger.

Beer: Lord have mercy. I think I have had water with more body than this beer. I didn’t even finish all of it, which is sacrilegious.

Hamburger: Looked amazing as he brought it and I thought to myself that maybe it would redeem the experience. Nope. I don’t know if it was by design or bad preparation, but it was a wet soggy mess. As I lifted the burger to take my first bite it started dripping a watery-cheesy liquid from the back. Not talking about the usual drips of fat, no. I’m talking about proper dripping of cloudy-cheesy water residue. Perhaps the patties are kept frozen and it wasn’t drained well after heating it up?? The dripped reside was enough that the basket the burger and fries came in was covered in it. As can be expected, the lower bun started breaking apart due to being wet and soggy. Was so hungry that I resorted to taking off the bread and just eating the beef patty with as much as the toppings as I could rescue.

Did I have any other beers? Negative ghostrider. That was enough for me. And I felt so bad because the server (Cameron) was great and I didn’t want to make this any worse for him.
