I had a first-time, recent stay at Ayres Hotels & Suites, at Ayres Suites Ontario Mills. Myself, my elderly Mother, and my Brother were visiting with my Daughter, her Husband and 5 children, in Ontario, California for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. (I live in Long Beach, California and we drove from Long Beach to Ontario, not an easy task with an elderly Mother traveling with medical equipment, and my Brother and I walking with a cane each.) The Hotel was very nice, and the daily, complimentary, full breakfast was nice, indeed. I had a 2-bedroom/2-bath suite (3rd floor) and it was one of the best suites that I have had, for the price -- and I've stayed in many suites as my preference for hotel accommodations when I travel. The rooms were immaculately clean and the beds over-the-top comfortable. My Mom had the "master suite," which is what I call the room she had that was very, very large, with a spacious sitting area, dressing area with a separate bathroom, and desk and chair. The other bedroom area, where I slept, was also nice square footage for a 2nd bedroom; it also had the same wonderful bed, a dresser, and 2 sizeable night stands on each side of the bed -- just like the master suite!! The living-room had another nice-size living space, with good square footage, a comfortable let-out couch (where my Brother slept), 2 sizeable end tables, and coffee table. (All the side tables, in all the rooms, had large lamps that had 2 outlets at the base.) Each bedroom area had its own climate-control, which was a must have for my Mom and I; each living space had a 32" TV with basic cable (3 TVs in the suite); each bedroom had a telephone. The closets were a nice size, and housekeeping was very accommodating when asked for extra blankets or towels in the bathrooms. I could go on, and on, because I have not gotten to the comfortable, inviting lobby sitting areas!! However, I won't go on .... LoL. I would give the Ayres Suites Ontario Mills 3-1/2 stars (instead of 4) or 4-1/2 stars (instead of 5). There were some small issues with service, but ALL the hotel staff was helpful and friendly; there just did not seem to be enough staff to cover the holidays with what appeared to be a full hotel. But, the Manager was quick to sincerely apologize on the Monday after Christmas for the inconveniences we experienced. I would stay at this hotel again to give them another chance. Overall, this hotel is a jewel of a find for the price!! Room Tip: You must try the 2-bedroom/2-bath suite!! This is the best value overall!! Really...
Read moreI originally stayed at the Ayres Hotel about 12 years ago, and went this month with my 2 friends. I remember it being very pleasant and accommodating so I was looking forward to a pleasant stay. To say that it has changed is an understatement. The room itself was fine and it was in close proximity to the Ontario Mills Mall. We were told they still had the manager's special which included nachos and a charcuterie board. After we settled in we decided to take up on the offer of the manager's special. We walked up to the front desk and asked for a glass of wine. We got a small plastic cup of, I guess it was merlot. There were 3 of us and we asked for the charcuterie board and the nachos. They said it was not ready yet so we went and sat by the pool for 10 minutes and went back in. We received a snack size bag of Tostitos and a plastic portion cup of nacho cheese, that was the nachos. The charcuterie board consisted of what I would call lunchables given to us in a small packed. We decided at that point that we would go down the street to the Outback and enjoy drinks and appetizers there. If you ever decide to stay there may I suggest Outback or nearby restaurants for much better choices for drinks and munchies during their happy hour. |The young girl at the front desk with fancy nails and dark hair was not very personable. However, there was one young man who worked at night with dark hair who was very friendly and accommodating. |The breakfast was ok; however, the female server behind the counter severely lacked customer skills. She asked my friend, who was holding her plate in her hand, what she wanted and she responded with the scrambled eggs. The server said to "put the plate down" - my friend was unsure who she was talking to the man next to her or what. The server then looked at my friend and said PUT THE PLATE DOWN! Needless to say it was a bit jarring. She handed her the plate and shook her head as she walked away. |The Ayres REALLY needs to either cut the manager's special altogether or just serve the wine. And MOST of all get people with good customer...

There was a young gentleman that was very nice and helpful during our check in process Saturday afternoon (5/6/23). It was a very comfortable stay the beds were cozy. The breakfast was delicious (eggs, crepes, potatoes, fresh fruits, bagels). Please tip the lady she's a sweetheart and works really hard to make these meals. I recommend having your breakfast on the patio it's beautiful back there. A nice fountain and greenery. The rooms and hallways were clean. The showers have all your bathing essentials Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash. No need to pack extras! Forgot my toothbrush and they gave me one.
Why the 4-star? I did not like how the security guard approached us. He began following my family and I as we walked in. He asked us not to speak loudly and kept going on about it. We're not causing trouble we had just come from a family event and our relatives were happy to see us. We quickly walked our relative to his room and put him to bed. Afterwards I walked to the lobby to pick up my UberEATS order and there was a lovely group having drinks and conversations. They invited me over. It was a lovely time. The noise level was the same yet the security guard didn't approach us when we sat with this group. It just didn't sit right with me.
Overall a great stay! 👍 I'd stay again.
Update: Recent stay 8/10-8/12
Kudos to Angelica for all her assistance during check-in. She was very helpful and so courteous. Definitely helped us make our reservation. In town for a Funeral and the process was stressful. She was a huge help! Thanks, Angelica !
The rooms are very clean. The breakfast was delicious. Highly encourage folks to eat their breakfast outside and enjoy the beautiful garden.
