Candymaker — Attraction in Panama City Beach

This place has some really good sweets. We got a couple of clusters with peanuts, cashews and pecans with white chocolate and milk chocolate and they were all very good.

But I've come to this shop the last 3 years to buy salt water taffy to take back to my coworkers. The problem is that they never have much of an assortment of Taffy flavors. Every year about a third to half of the bins are empty and you're stuck with the flavors that aren't the most popular.

The girl behind the counter was nice enough and said that the owner was coming in about 3:30 and can make a flavor for me. Well I didn't want to tell her but he needed to make about eight or nine flavors that day and the problem was, I wasn't going to be coming back that evening.

Oh well, maybe next year. But I ain't going to be...

This little store in Pier Park is adorable. The chocolates were delicious! The only reason I wouldn’t give five stars is because the young lady working the day we were there, at about 4 pm on 9/14/2020, was downright rude. She gave us the death stare from the moment we walked in. It was at a point where we checked what time the store closed to make sure we hadn’t walked in last minute, we were genuinely concerned we’d offended her, but we had said nothing to her except hello. Just an overall horrible attitude. I asked for one of the chocolates and apparently said the name wrong, and she looked at me disgusted and spat, “what? I stopped by here because I wanted some fresh made chocolate and saltwater taffy. The lady that worked here was so friendly and patient with me because I asked a lot of questions and I even had to ask if the strawberry flavoring for the taffy was natural or artificial. Since my mother is allergic to strawberries. She was able to get the answer that I wanted and help me buy plenty of chocolate and Taffy. All of it was delicious, especially the homemade caramel candy that I bought. This place is well laid out and has plenty of chain candies and homemade options as well.
