This was a good experience. The game master also acts out prior to the setup for the Thai prison. We didn't get to wear the prison uniforms though, but did get handcuffs to have to work solving puzzles. We were only a few minutes away from solving it because a stupid mistake we made. Also, we only thought there was 1 room so we took our time and didn't use hints. There was 3 rooms for this one fyi, so try to pace yourself with the hints because we didn't use them all. We only had 4 people too with 3 never had done an escape room before. We had been told we can start and they will send the 5th person in when they show, but for some odd reason they told her they didn't know anyone under our name?? So she just sat there until we finished and lost her money. I think they are shortstaffed (like everywhere) and only have game masters and don't have just a receptionist to help out when games are in play and the gamemasters are busy watching/helping. Ours went missing for a little bit, which was probably helping other visitors. I had called earlier in the week and the manager was a bit rude bc she didn't know about the parking and told me to ask the attendant when I arrive. She disagreed that one always is there, but guess what, nope, no one there. So for anyone interested in parking use the one on 215 Lombard and the 20% discount does still work on the weekend flat fee of $25, so = $20. The website says only works on 3hrs. Just bring the ticket to get validated. Would have given 5 stars if not for multiple...
Read moreRead moreOn memorial day, May 30th, my group of 3 (in terms of experience, 26 rooms, 12 rooms, and 3 rooms) did "Thai Prison Escape" with our game master, Olivia. In terms of difficulty, this is an extremely challenging room, but I highly recommend it for escape room enthusiasts. Definitely not an entry-level room, for even our most veteran escape room player. However, Olivia was the best game master we could have ever asked for. She was extremely helpful and always stayed in character. The only piece of feedback I have for the manager's of MindEscape is to let their players open the final door themselves with the GameMaster waiting for them outside to congratulate, instead of having the GM open the door and saying congratulations. My group of friends have also done Jack the Ripper and Alice in Wonderland, and this same thing occurred during JTR. Additionally, for those wondering in terms of difficulty, I would say Thai = Alice Jack in terms of challenge. However, in terms of novelty, Alice in the Wonderland is very technological and have a lot of puzzles I've never experienced (side note: Olivia was also our GM then and she did amazing!), whereas Thai Escape is definitely for the lover of traditional escape rooms and trad'l lock &...
Last night was our second time going and it was just as much fun as the first time we went a couple weeks ago. Our game master Helena (sorry if I’m spelling it wrong) was PHENOMENAL! She was such a doll and so helpful and easy to communicate with. Her personality is awesome hands down! The first time we did the Thai prison and didn’t solve it. We were close but failed unfortunately. It was still an awesome time. It was so well thought out. Difficult but not impossible. This week we did the Jack the Ripper and we solved it with 5 seconds left! It was also challenging but doable. I know we wouldn’t have solved it without Helena’s clues though. They were so helpful without giving us the answers. Next we’re gonna do the Alice in wonderland one and we can’t wait! If you’re thinking about doing this, do it! We went to a different one before this one and it sucked in comparison to mind escape. You can tell the team really puts thought into these rooms. It’s been a great family experience both times and we cannot wait to go back! THANK YOU AGAIN HELENA!! You’re a light in this...
