I am a person that never writes reviews, but I feel like this needed to be said. Iām not gonna lie I was excited to go and get my hair done but once I was there I felt uncomfortable and just smiled through it. I just moved out to Arizona from New York and had long healthy hair to the middle of my back. When I went into the salon I was told my hair was damaged it looked like a nest and it was just so uncomfortable. I have never been criticized like that to my face at a salon thatās supposed to make you feel good. After they washed my hair (with products I did not tell them to use because I brought my OWN) they then stuck me under a dryer with no products and no rollers because she said my hair needed to dry which caused MORE damage! Stephanie not only cut my hair while it was ONLY blowed out but she then cut my hair to be below my shoulders. Even after I told her NOT to do that. I was completely in pain the WHOLE TIME I was there as she was yanking my hair out of my head telling me itās dry but it was only dry because she STUCK me under a dryer with no products because she didnāt want to ādealā with my hair at that moment. Towards the end, she started to straighten my hair and continued to bump my ends. Even after I told her I did not want that, and I wanted it to be pinned straight. She kept insisting that I get my ends bumped, and it will look good and they will fall. THEY DIDNT! At the end of the service she charged me $165!! I have never in my ENTIRE life gotten my hair done at a Dominican salon and paid $165. The most I have ever paid is $80 plus tip. She calls herself a New York City Dominican hairdresser, but I have gotten my hair done for way less and it has looked WAYYY better. I will NEVER come back to this salon! I should have listened to the reviews! I highly recommend that before you go to the salon you call and ask them how much she is going to charge. Not only did she charge me $165 but she broke it down and told me that it was $95 for a blowout (that price is INSANE AND I did not ask for that, I asked for rollers) and then she proceeded to charge me $30 for a deep conditioner. $25 for a trim and then added an additional $25 for flat ironing my hair. I have never been charged extra money to get my hair flat ironed as part of a wash and set service. She is way overpriced, and I am absolutely an utterly not amused with my hair and I cannot wait to put a wig on in two weeks. I will never be back!! I feel like I was completely scammed out of my money!! Oh and I had to go home and straighten my hair because the ends were still bumped and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really hate to leave a negative review, but I feel itās necessary in this case. I was genuinely excited to try this salon after struggling to find a good one since moving here. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.
When I called to book, they quoted me $55 and required a deposit. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment, but ended up waiting nearly an hour before anyone even began working on me. When I was finally taken for a wash, I was honestly shocked. The hair-washing bowl was visibly dirtyāstill full of soap and hair from the previous client. It was disgusting and completely unsanitary.
Things didnāt improve from there. I had booked a blowout, but the stylist insisted on putting rollers in my hair instead. It was obvious they were overbooked and rushing through appointments, but thatās no excuse to disregard the service a client has requested. I sat under a hot dryer for over an hourāso long that my skin became irritatedāwhile the stylist worked on someone else.
When it came time to style my hair, she barely even used a blow dryer and just grabbed a curling iron. Then came the haircut: easily the worst mistake I ever made. She kept pushing me to get layers even though I clearly said I wanted my hair one length. I agreed to a slight face frame, but instead, I ended up with a choppy, uneven mess. She cut off way more than I asked, and the result was heartbreaking I almost cried in the chair. She literally took the top half of my hair from each side and just chopped through it with scissors. There was no guide no matching the hair on each side NOTHING. The unevenness was so obvious that when I went to another salon to get it fixed, even they were shocked at how bad the cut was.
Overall, this salon was a huge letdown. I ended getting charged $130 for an unsanitary environment, poor time management, unprofessional service, and a haircut I wouldnāt wish on anyone. I absolutely do not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNEVER EVER GO TO THIS SALON IF YOU VALUE YOUR HAIR!! I typically do not write reviews but I needed to warn people before they went through the same hell that Iām currently living in. Iām from NYC and moved to AZ in the last year. Iāve worn my hair naturally for the last 12 years. I rarely put heat on my hair maybe once or twice a year but I wanted a blow out for an event in July and found this salon. HUGE MISTAKE!! I went there with deep conditioner already in my hair but they said I needed a treatment so I did an additional conditioner there. After washing out the conditioner and starting to blowout my hair I knew something was wrong immediately. My hair looked limp and you could barely see a curl pattern. Then as there were blowing my hair out it smelled like there was RELAXER that was put in it. If youāve ever had your hair relaxed before you know the smell immediately. The blow out was mediocre at best and cost me 130.00 which is insane!! My hair felt so thin and brittle! After finally washing my hair after having it semi straight for over a week my curl pattern did not return and my hair felt like Cotten candy. I put my hair in knotless braids after thinking that my hair just needed to be in a protective style. This was in August, it is now February and my hair is the worst itās never been. In certain parts of my hair it is completly broken off almost to the root, there are parts that a just straight from whatever relaxer they put in my hair and I have a bald spot at the front of my head. Iām so mad at myself for trusting these woman with my hair. I now have to chop off most of my hair and start from scratch and hope for the best. They shouldnāt be in business, how can you put any chemical into someoneās hair without first telling them. For all they know I couldāve had an allergy to relaxer. STAY...
