The Blue Lemon is easy. It's easy to find something that you'll . . . eat. The location is perfect if you're in City Creek, doing something on Temple Square, staying in a nearby hotel, doing something at the Salt Palace, or an event at Abravanel Hall. So the location makes it pretty great. They have a wonderful system set up and get your food to you very quickly. It's clean, and generally the service we've had is wonderful. The reason it's dropped down a bit from five stars for me is the real expectation that comes with eating out: the food. The food is just okay. It's basic and uninteresting, nothing exciting or mouthwatering. The vegetarian options are terrible, a ravioli and a pretty basic veggie wrap. Clearly the ravioli is likely frozen (tastes like it) and the wrap was made with a store-bought tortilla and a strange veggie mix that doesn't belong in a wrap, indifferently paired with some hummus. The queso and chips were my favorite part, the queso would make a better sauce to the wrap than the bland hummus. It's edible, but not good. If you need quick and a great location, this is just right. But if you want a great meal, with memorable food, this is a pass.

From this location, I’ve tried the tropical curry, the street tacos (served fajita style), and some of the desserts. Desserts are good but overpriced! I’d say portion size is my largest complaint about blue lemon. For the price you should receive more food! The tropical curry is good but a bit bland. Would order again though. Not doing the street tacos again. I’ve had them twice first time they were okay-I ordered shrimp/beef and got a few small fleks of beef and about five shrimp. Hardly enough beef for more than one bite. The second time though, I only shrimp tacos (no beef) and received only 6 small shrimp, and the shrimp appeared to have never even touched a grill. Just looked like it was heated in a microwave? And the guacamole was already brown around the edges. Not impressed. Will not order again. This place is okay, but not great. A little more portion for the price and quality control would go a long way.

Blue Lemon is one of the very few restaurants that offer true healthy options. However, it can be pricy in some of the entrées. I really appreciate that they try to innovate with their salad options and I can perceive the value on their recipes. I hate whenever I pay for an expensive salad that comes with lettuce with tomatoes and dressing but not in Blue Lemon. In Blue Lemon you can have a salad with a kick of something new. In other words, they are more than lettuce and tomatoes and protein. The soda fountain is awesome with their natural flavored sodas which offer a more healthy option for those who avoid the average soda but still are indulgent for some sugar. Location of this place is exceptional and I wish the indoor section was more cozy. I would like to come back some day...

The staff here is incompetent and rude, but you can probably have a good dining experience if you budget 90 minutes for your meal, ask the cashier which tables you are allowed to sit at, get a paper receipt, and check on the status of your order every 15 to 20 minutes.

More details about my experience: Apparently I sat in the wrong section of the restaurant when I was dining here at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. I was right near the entrance and I didn't walk through any doors or anything like that to get to where I was sitting. Even though I had an electronic tracking device which also had a number printed on it in plain sight, the staff decided to just give up on me and not deliver the food I had paid for. When I complained 35 minutes after ordering, they gave me a similar but worse dish that happened to be available. Then they cooked an entirely wrong dish for me thinking somehow that I might be hungry enough to eat two entrees and that this would make it right. They never made the salad I ordered. By the time they finally made the burger I ordered, I wasn't hungry and I had to leave to catch a show at 7pm.

They blamed me for sitting in the wrong section even though it would have been trivial for them to find me if they had tried, and there was no way for me to know I was in the wrong section. The guy I was dealing with said "well I tried my best!" as I was walking out but in reality they were rude and...

I had been holding off on reviewing for a while because I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. I've ordered online a LOT of times over the past few months. I wouldn't go here anymore, except that it is the closest place to my office, and when you're working 90 hours/week you really would rather not take a half hour to walk somewhere else. The poor review comes down to the fact that their online ordering is not consistent with their in store ordering and they have, on multiple occasions, blamed that on me. When I order something and pay, then come to pick it up, you better give me what I ordered. Telling me "oh, that doesn't come with it when you order in the store" really doesn't matter to me. I ordered it, and it was promised to me; why not have some sense of customer service and just let me have what I ordered instead of throwing it in the trash? Today an employee told me that I need to not order extra veggies in the future because they aren't free in the restaurant like they are online, as if it's my fault that I chose that perfectly viable option on their website. Fix your website and don't be rude to your customers about it when it's not their fault or problem. Honor what you are promising customers when they order on the website you set up. Also, please put some salt...

UPDATE: After posting the original review (below) and filing a complaint I received a quick response and a credit/refund for future purchase upon return to Blue Lemon. I am very satisfied with how the complain was handled at the corporate level, and have increased my rating by 2 stars from 1 to 3. I would increase the rating to 4 stars if it did not directly impact the City Creek Location.

Original Review: I would not recommend this location. This was my fourth time to Blue Lemon, but first at this location. I at first ordered a new gnocchi dish on their menu - which they were out of gnocchi on a Friday afternoon, prior to dinner.

I moved on to the Korean bowl, as the picture looked fantastic, hearty, and filling. I was very disappointed when they brought the food out - the quantity received was literally half the size of the picture. I immediately noticed and commented to the server bringing out the food - his response was there was nothing he could do about it, but would tell his manager that I was dissatisfied with the quantity. I'm not sure whether he did or did not, as they did not do anything about it.

As for the flavor, it was great - just wish I had twice as much as I was given as per the...
