I wasn't going to leave a narrative review, but I was surprised to see a one star review about the train room as the first one. We also did the train room, with four adults and four kids. We didn't get out, but had a great time. My own kids said it was their favorite part of our trip (second to going up the gondola, which is not exactly apples to apples).
The staff member (or owner, I have no idea) was very friendly. The room was well done, and even the things we missed made complete sense in retrospect. My main criticism is that I would drop the digital "device" part and just do that analog (I'm not giving anything away, it's in the intro video). I have one other very minor thing to point out, but there's no way to do it without spoilers.
To respond to the one star commenter, I wouldn't want a clue to start. If you did, that's why you have a walkie-talkie and unlimited clues. In fact, one of our party wanted to ask for a starting clue, but we decided not to - it was found within a few minutes by one of our kids, and the significance recognized by another of the kids immediately. (Please don't take that as meaning it's easy - we missed some things and didn't escape, but the excitement of the kids finding the first part was...
Read moreFun escape rooms! Definitely on the difficult side as it is often really unclear what puzzles are meant to open what locks and if certain puzzle pieces/instructions can be used yet or not (For reference I've done over 30 rooms in multiple states, and two rooms at this location). The game master we had was super friendly but gave contradictory instructions, hints we did not ask for, and actually came in the room to solve a puzzle for us when we ran into the tiniest bit of trouble....which again was not asked for. For newer players this would probably be very welcome, but for more experienced players that level of hand-holding might be off-putting (It certainly was for me and my group. Alot of the fun for us comes from solving the puzzles ourselves, even if we have to struggle for a few minutes....hence why we weren't asking for hints. We ended up getting out with almost half our time to spare, so we definitely had some time to figure things out on our own and ask for help if we really felt we were stuck). I feel like alot of this might have been solved with better/more thorough pre-room instructions. Overall definitely still a fun time though! We will definitely be back to play the rest...
Read moreGreat escape room, me and my wife had a great time. Highlight of our Tahoe trip. We came back five times and did 3 rooms (we wanted to share the experience of some of the rooms with our family) it was our fist time ever doing escape rooms and this place has us wanting more and more. Rooms are a little difficult but you do get unlimited hints and they won’t tell you unless you ask which is good because it gives you the opportunity to figure the puzzles out. Rooms are also very realistic, we felt like we were in a movie set. Staff is super friendly, we were helped by Bailey and she was a great host. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Can’t wait to go back and finish sector 9
The Train room is perfect for big groups and is very family friendly
The Prospect is a smaller room perfect for couples.
The Estate is a little creepy, took my five year old and he was a little freaked out, but he made it through. This one was me and my wife’s favorite. Great props, jump scares, locks,...
