So disappointed to be rating this place so low.. My husband and I are huge ceniphiles and head to the movies several times a week. We were so excited to try this brand new place opening just in time for our wedding anniversary.
The location is nice (obviously being the Woodlands) and the interior is very chic and elegant. The theaters seats were our favorite part. Love the privacy dividers with service buttons and a little light to be able to see your food. Initially, I tried to order the American Psycho drink and was told they were out of it as we were there on a Monday and it had apparently been a very busy weekend. Ok, not too big of a deal. The waiter suggested a drink from their restaurant which was very good. My husband enjoyed his Godfather old fashioned too. The popcorn was perfect. Our first few dishes were also good. My husband ordered the spicy tuna roll. We got the truffle mushroom flatbread and the crispy barrata bites. All tasty. Although, it all went downhill after that for us.
The Chicken Tandoori I ordered was completely missing the coconut curry sauce. It came totally dry, hard and bland with flavorless, plain white rice and dry lavash.. The waiter was understanding and offered to change it out for something else, but once our order is messed up anywhere, we truly don't have the confidence to order anything else after that wholeheartedly trusting the kitchen staff... So we didn't.
Our check came at the end of the movie and not only were we still charged for the Chicken dish, they charged us an additional popcorn when we only ordered one. We tell the waiter, he apologizes and says he will fix it, he comes back with an updated receipt: chicken dish removed, both popcorn orders still there. We call him again, he apologizes, comes back with both popcorn orders gone, but now our receipt is showing our food total at $85.52, but somehow at the very bottom our total, plus tax is $130??
At that point, we were already so frustrated because we missed SO MUCH of the movie with having to go back and forth with our waiter over these issues. We just go to the front desk to figure out what is going on.. They apologize, tell us they are going to have to refund me the $40 dollars and get a manager to see what went wrong.. Which was super confusing.. we hadn't signed the receipt so why would you need to refund me? Any way, that wasn't the case. The manager came and fixed our receipt and charged us the correct amount of $85.52 only. He also gave us 4 passes to use at a later time.
To be honest, after this whole ordeal, we don't see ourselves coming back, sadly. Which really breaks my heart because we really loved the auditorium and seating, but all of this was just too much to deal with. It basically ruined what was supposed to be our 12th anniversary day special outing..
Will update if there are any additional discrepancies with the official amount charged to our card...
Read moreI read through the other reviews and was honestly jealous that we did not have the same experience. We visited yesterday and watched Indiana Jones. On arrival the lobby was very busy and a small check in desk was buzzing, however 90% of the people were staff and they all asked if we were here to watch a movie - I understand helpfulness and that they are new, but it was a lot! The place is stunning, beautifully decorated (the ladies restroom is just incredible - so beautiful, I wanted to stay in there!) and the seats were great, comfortable, recline was perfect and I loved the booth feel, we didn’t have blankets at our seats, our girls did, I always bring a blanket to the movies but hadn’t as they advertised them, I could have asked for one, however the temperature was good and didn’t feel I needed it, towards the end of the movie I felt the chill and turned on the heated seat which was great! The tables are high and kids may struggle. The biggest disappointment was the food and drink service when seated. On placing our order we were told that the Icee machine might not be working, I asked for her to check and come back as that was what my girls wanted but would order something else if they couldn’t have an Icee. We ordered popcorn and a charcuterie board, these items arrived but no word on the Icee’s. I had to press my call button and wait to be told that it wasn’t working. The charcuterie board was delicious, great variety and quantity if not a little hard to eat in the dark, the little side lamp was a big help! We ordered refills on our drinks and popcorn - our drinks came wrong and our daughters never came and we had to reorder, the popcorn had to be reordered too as it never arrived. At one point a server tried to deliver food we hadn’t ordered and then proceeded to stand in front of us with a colleague and discuss where he went wrong, for a good couple of minutes, while we were trying to watch the movie. Towards the end the check was delivered and rather than place discreetly on the table it was handed to me, and then the pen….. not a big deal just things that could be done better. Overall we will probably visit again, it just was not the luxury experience advertised and I am sure most of it is just teething problems with...
Read moreI finally get the misses alone for date night. Found this place on an Instagram ad, believe it or not. Thought this might be fun, and I know that the name has luxury in it. But I didn't take that so seriously. Once we got there, everyone was dressed up. Full button-up shirts to dress slats. We felt a little out of place because we showed up super casual. This place is busy, there's employees and guests coming and going back and forth. But once we sat down to our table, we felt more relaxed and comfortable. On the menu, we ordered the charcuterie board for starters. For our entrees, I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich 🥪 and she ordered the Fried Chicken Sliders. Everything was very delicious. We also ordered The Duke drink which had tequila Blanco and topo Chico in it and we both feel like this drink got mixed up with someone else's because it arrived with a red and purple color to it, but our server ensures us that was the right drink. But we say that because Tequila Blanco and Topo Chico are both clear in color and I originally wanted the purple rain spicy margarita, but they were all out of the ingredients for it, so I ordered the Firestarter Mule instead. I will say this about that drink. It had some serious kick to it. I mean, I love hot and spicy, but for this drink. It was way too much to enjoy. I even left some in my cup, which I never do. But overall, we enjoyed our experience. Maybe next time we might dress up a little bit. But in time, we'll definitely be back.
P.S. Sorry for the low lit pictures of the food. I didn't want to ruin the experience for the others in the cinema. So i didn't use my flash, and i didn't leave the table light on taking the pics. Plus, if you just feel like enjoying the restaurant part of it alone from all the theater showings. They have that. It's downstairs and separate...
