I went here on a Sunday to tour the facility as I was in the market for a new gym after outgrowing my home gym. I called to see if I needed an appointment for a tour but I was told I could just come in. When I arrived to the parking garage, I loved how there was. I fee or time limit but I became concerned after noticing the decaying conditions. The garage could certainly use more lighting and signage for safety. I felt like the stairwell and elevator could especially be dangerous after dark since there were no cameras, call for help, or windows present. After finding my way to the front desk, I stood there while two associates were present for 2 minutes before anyone noticed me because they were on their phones. Once I told them I called about a tour I was directed towards who I assumed was a manger but he never introduced himself, seemed distracted, and overall had an unprofessional demeanor. I ended up being passed along to another member of the team who was much more attentive and professional. He asked what my goals were, explained the different promotions, and gave me a tour. While touring, I noticed trash throughout and dust on the equipment. I knew immediately they skipped out on regular cleanings. The lighting in the locker room was dim but the steam rooms appeared to be functional although I didn’t get a chance to see if it was infused with aromatherapy or clean since it was in use. There was also a self care area that had different rooms for different purposes. There were about 2-3 different rooms that were out of order but they had plenty of self tanning options, hydromassage, and other machines available. The gym seemed well equipped for my use but I couldn’t get over the lack of cleanliness and professional staff.

Apart from being dirty, which was an issue pre-COVID. This location specifically told me they froze my account and would not be charging me during the pandemic. As of today the gym is still closed. However, X-Sport has started charging me again for services they have not rendered. I cannot physically go to their gym, but they are taking my money. Additionally they make cancelling your membership a nightmare. Their customer service phone number is down, no one picks up. They don’t respond to emails. And they force you to write a letter and send it via certified mail in order to cancel your membership. Avoid this spot. Edit - including the private message I received from customer service back in March assuring me they are not charging customers during the pandemic...but I'm getting charged...during the pandemic...for the second time.

This place (Gym) is niw officially TRASH! Nothing works anymore, and if it does get fixed, 2 days later it's broke again. They used to have 2 paper towl rolls in the mens bathroom but now they only have 1 that they refill just once a day. The steam room and sauna haven't worked since last June. The hot tube works one week than is down for two weeks. They completely removed the machine used to get the water out of your swimming trunks, so if you take a swim... expect to put wet ass clothes in your gym bag! The gym machines STAY broke and the vibe is just completely different now ever since they went from Xsport to LA Fitness. But you know what, it's my fault for staying though. I realize that I'm paying $40 a month for being able to use only half the equipment because the shit is always broke and dirty!

I have been going to this gym for about 2 months now. I've searched for a gym where I would feel comfortable and thought that I had finally found the place. The only reason I am still a member is because my personal trainer is amazing and unfortunately can not train me at any other Xsport location.

February 24th I went to the gym with my friend as my guest and we were accompanied by my two nephews one has a membership and the other would be his guest. Upon arrival we came across Ivan an employee that clearly did not want to be at work. My friend had some trouble finding her ID and he was very frustrated by it, so he directed his attention to my nephew (the guest) that had a basketball in his hands because he was going to play basketball. At the time of enrollment my nephew (with membership) nor myself were told that a guest has to pay to play basketball. Paying to play was not an issue the confusion in between was, Ivan stated "if you got that ball you have to pay $20" clearly not detailed at all as to what he meant. I went on to ask him what he meant with a horrible attitude he stated "he can't play for free because he isn't a member", I went on to assure him that paying wasn't an issue and paid the $20. Through out this entire ordeal he never once checked my younger nephew in as a guest because he was so focused on being an arrogant meathead. He then directed his attitude right back at my friend not even speaking to her in full sentences the way someone with excellent customer service would. He continuously huffed and puffed mumbling out "number... name... email done" and walked away.

I leave about 5-10 min before my nephews to pick up my daughter at the theater directly behind the gym and told my nephews that we would return for them once the basketball game he was in the middle of was over. I return about 5 minutes later because my nephews were done.

Ivan found the need to release the rest of his bad day on my nephews. While waiting for me my 18 year old nephew is being stared down by a man maybe triple his age, my nephew joined him and stared right back he then asked him if he was having an eye issue. As always like a Chicago Police Officer he gets cocky states he is an of duty cop. Ivan bends over and tells him something else and the Security guard tells my nephew to empty out his pocket because Ivan said he stole a protein bar. My nephew flips his pockets out they check him out and see that he did not take anything. No apology is said they just walk away and continue on with their conversation.

I called the next morning and spoke to Hope he stated that he would talk to Ivan and give my nephew 1 day of free basketball on them and he would follow up with me. He was very kind and sounded very convincing.

Now it is March 3rd I go in with my sister and friend to work out again my friend has to be checked in as a guest and again we get Ivan with the same horrible customer service. My sister asked him if he did not feel like being at work(my guess is that he hates working Saturday nights) " he says "oh you are the one that told on me" then laughs" ( clearly he doesn't care or knows there will be no repercussions for his behavior) I went ahead and let him know that it was me that submitted the complaint not my sister and that I felt I was owed an apology. Ivan clearly stated that he would not apologize he was doing his job not accusing my nephew of anything (clearly doesn't know what an accusation is). I completely agree if you see something wrong at your job you need to report it that is a part of your job but if your accusation is proven wrong you apologize. He refused to apologize when I told him he had horrible customer service he stated "I Know and I am not apologizing".

March 4th I contact Hope again he says he will speak to him and follow up. It is now the 8th and I have not heard anything back.

Before this entire situation I was very satisfied with this location unfortunately because of the disrespect my friend will not be signing up and I once my contract is over in April I will not...

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!!!!!!!!! Is the worst!!!!!!! I signed up for the special offer of "pay one year and get second free" they told us in addition we will get about 40 points to get access to the Spa which we were so happy !! Also they told us that I can bring a guest and he/she will get access to everything and the times he /she wanted.

The nightmare began when me and my bf wanted get a massage (at the spa) which is part of the points in the special membership we got, my bf who is the guest and like we were told he can get access to it set the appointment, when we were checking in the lady in the front desk told us that if we get any services of the spa using the points we will lost our second year free membership at the gym! Wait what!!!! ?? One of the stuff guys told us that the points represent months (what I remember) and if we use it we will lose every month of the second year we got for free! Well they forgot to told us that tiny detail at the moment we signed up.

We decided that we wanted our money back (more than $600 ) and they make some math only to tell us we will get back less than that!! So frustrated! So then we decided to keep it and just use the gym . Good thing : that day we got a free one time massage! So that was the closest thing we got from using the spa.

The nightmare continues... Days later I started to go more frequently , for my surprise and very annoying the stuff from the front desk beraly talk to you for a nice good morning, enjoy etc... At the moment to check in ! Grumpy faces all the time ! lack of customer service is terrible! Very uncomfortable everytime you go... ( I used to think "oh god again the rude welcoming " )

And finally (I REALLY WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! ) Was that yesterday I brought my brother like a guest to used the gym we signed a form and For my surprise I got bombed with presence of the "manager " who told us to talk to him before we start to use the gym "" so odd! After minutes filling the form we went to the front desk when finally a smiley face take care of us then the manager call us and told us that my guest can't use the pool, and other stuff...which is why we were there! I told him why!?? And he said "because we don't have lifeguard " and I said " wait but I bring my bf like a guest and we never got this issue, We were never been told about it!!! " His grumpy face made so uncomfortable!! And he refused to let us get access to the pool and jacuzzi... Then he told me that if my guest wanted to use it he needed to pay $20 dollars! So unfair!!! So 20 box more important than he lifeguard ha?!

Every time My bf goes we never get charge $20 dollars and nobody is there putting pressure with questions about what he's gonna do! I got very frustrated and I told them that what they were doing was false advertisement!!

Since we signed up all in that gym is a problem . They are charming at the moment you are thinking to get any membership and they tell you all this awesome services you can get access and after you pay you can't get access of the Wonderful services they promised you!

I WANT MY...

For anyone looking into signing up, DON'T. Unless you're willing to deal with: Miserable staff who can't seem to do their $10/h job to guess what: provide friendly customer service. Instead just a bunch of high school glory day 20 - 30 year olds who seem to be burdened with any customer interactions like greeting you and signing you in or making you workout shakes or basic customer service. Extremely messy and unclean environment. Good luck ever finding any weights on the racks. Make sure you have a keen eye on spotting the various weights across the weight area as they are often left sitting on the floor or being "used" by someone already occupied with different machines or weights. Extremely packed, all the time. It doesn't matter what day, holidays included, from at least 3pm to 12:00am this gym is horribly packed. Unless you don't have a job or any other life commitments good luck ever going to the gym at a reasonable time. Don't even think you'll be using the basketball court by yourself or even with a friend. That place is always packed with a game full court with scores of guys on the sidelines waiting for the game to be over. Not even an option. Swimming pool is only 3" at its deepest. Murky water. Jucazzi is always occupied. -Parking is horrendous. And the people who park here make it worse as it seems no one knows how to park within the lines. Don't be shocked by the countless times you'll see people taking up two lanes. Also if you park all the way at the top don't be surprised by all those guys who smoke pot from the back of there cars up there. And in general, if you are a beginner, prepare for an overall douchy environment where excercising seems to be a posterity contest than actually feeling comfortable. Smells like puke and chlorine During busy time 3pm - 12am expect long waits for machines and weights in an overcrowded weight area where there are sweaty loud guys working out within arms length of you and eachother crappy music salesmen are just a bunch of thiefs. machines are always broken

I recommend anyone looking into this gym to really ready through the comments. Especially since it's such a pain to cancel your membership. This is not a health club, this...
