Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview Wichita — Attraction in Wichita

Pros: Awesome location. Right in the heart of downtown Wichita. Lots of food nearby ( but it's expensive).

Multiple hot tubs is nice, and fre drink hour is a good bonus.

Cons: The key card situation. You need one to do basically everything but take a shit in your own room (outside restrooms probably do require one). If you forget your key card in your room you are trapped. Can't use the elevator, can't use the stairs, can't come in the front door. I left mine in my room and the guy Kyler that checked me in not 10 minutes earlier told me he had to see my ID to let me back in the room he JUST gave me. He had a copy of my ID on file, he JUST took it 10-15 minutes earlier! He even instantly recognized me. Being treated like a lying criminal after being on the road all day was not cool.

The room went from $140 to $237. What?! It's freaking Wichita!

This was my absolute favorite chain to patronize. I travel for work a LOT throughout the country, and when I'm in the Midwest I love Drury Inn the most! Unfortunately, they lost a customer forever after this.

Spare me with your policies, you know you were wrong for treating me like that. This is my last stay here, after years and thousands of dollars. So disappointed.

Edit the morning of checkout, out key card became demagnetized. As a result, while trying to LEAVE,.we could not use the elevator to leave,.use the stairwell to leave, or get back into our floor's hallway. This is the stupidest system of security I have ever seen for a one horse town hotel. Oh, and the room sucked. I woke up cold and hot simultaneously like I'm a middle aged menopause patient....

The hotel itself is nice enough. The lobby is fancy, smelled nice, and there is fruit-infused cold water available for guests. The room was very clean, and there's a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot available. Security is good, too. There's covered parking available for guests, and a card key is required to get into it and into every area of the hotel that we were in. Parking will set you back an extra $12, though, over and above the room rate. I expected a little bit more for the price point, and the fact that this hotel is supposed to be a three-star hotel. I picked it primarily because of the food options available; breakfast, and the afternoon kickback. I also liked the fact that popcorn was available. Unfortunately, none of the food we tried tasted good. The popcorn was cooked in oil and was not buttered or salted, and was completely inedible. The coffee in the mezzanine and in the room was absolutely awful. At first I thought maybe it was the water it was brewed in, but I tasted the water from the tap, and that's not it. The breakfast was very mediocre. We ended up going to a restaurant, instead. We were also disappointed by the fact that the room only offered basic cable channels. Again, for the price I paid for the room, and the fact that this is a three-star hotel, we were expecting to be able to sign into our Netflix account. The beds are extra-firm, and were most uncomfortable. This is definitely not what I would call a three-star hotel. Just a regular hotel that charges you extra in order to serve you "free"...

I travel a lot both for work and leisure. This hotel is the best hotel I have stayed at in a decade. You can tell it's a hidden gem because all the flight attendant/pilots stay here. I'm sure through personal experience and word of mouth this place has been touted as the best in Wichita for that traveling community. And I'm here to echo that sentiment. When we arrived, my partner and I first commented on how gorgeous the lobby was. The front desk was friendly, polite and without a reservation gave us a room with a phenomenal view of the river. They informed us about the complimentary breakfast (which many hotels offer), but also the free dinner. And also 3 free alcoholic beverages for EACH of us. They did say we had to pay for parking, but who cares? It's $12. I happily paid that for it's downtown location which made it so convenient to not only be by the river, but also be close to other restaurants/bars/coffee shops/concert halls, which we enjoyed the next day. But with so many amenities (nice 24 hour gym, heated indoor pool and hot tub) and the promise of a free dinner and drinks we stayed in for the night. The dinner was great! Costello was working the buffet and bar and was so high energy, he sang opera to our table. And the morning breakfast buffet was delicious, as well with a great selection. After all of this, I can't believe the low price I spent on such a great experience, which was comparable to what one would spend at a shabby big chain hotel. This...
