Restaurant Review: 0/10 – Will Not Return

Atmosphere: The experience started off poorly with the sticky floors and tables, making the entire restaurant feel unclean. The building’s AC wasn’t working, leaving it uncomfortably hot. To make matters worse, the bathroom had a hole in the wall, and instead of toilet paper, there was a roll of paper towels placed on top as a substitute. This lack of attention to basic cleanliness and maintenance was extremely off-putting.

Food: The food was, frankly, terrible. The teriyaki steak was overcooked and lacked flavor, the vegetables were ice cold, and the shrimp was so overcooked it was inedible. The rice was both overcooked and barely seasoned, with a hair and an eggshell found in it—completely unacceptable. The soup tasted like water with a chicken bouillon cube dissolved in it, and the salad was brown, wilted, and topped with some low-quality fried onions. Even the Coke was flat. On top of all this, the bar was closed, which I assume was due to some issue with their licensing.

Service: The service was lackluster but not the worst part of the experience. The server did their job, but there was no enthusiasm or effort to make up for the overall poor experience.

Chef: The chef’s behavior was downright inappropriate. He was loud and vulgar, making crude “no means no” and “that’s what she said” jokes, even with a table of women and two young girls present. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional, leaving everyone visibly uneasy.

Overall: This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the unclean atmosphere to the inedible food and the inappropriate behavior of the staff, this restaurant failed on every level. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. 0/10 – We will...

Let's start with the good... we enjoyed being with family, the chef was great and the food was delicious! What wasn't so great was that we had a 7:00 reservation and waited well over 45 minutes to be seated, it seems we were forgotten? people that came in after us were seated before we were...It would probably help if the hostess was in the same room with all the people waiting so that she could see what's going on... although i'm not sure that any of them truly cared by all appearances, there were a few girls coming through there and one was more confused than the next about what needed to happen to take care of all the guests. A table that was seated after us had their food before our chef ever started cooking, and they were long gone by the time we were getting our food. The chef had to ask for someone to bring more bowls for rice 3 different times before he finally had enough to serve everyone, they were bringing 1 and 2 at a time so I don't know if there was no dishwasher or what was happening in the back.

The whole place seemed very neglected and run down, junk stacked and sitting everywhere and a sign at the hostess stand that said "we currently have no bar, sorry for the inconvenience, but you can BYOB" yet there were still some random bottles of alcohol and empty bottles on the shelves along with some very dusty bar glasses. To say the bathroom was filthy would be an understatement, and the soap dispenser was ripped off the wall and sitting on the sink along with another bottle of soap. We were there 2 hours and 40 minutes...we did A LOT of waiting... I can safely say there are far better options for japanese grill in Wichita, i'm not sure we will go back there unless there is new management and someone gets things...

I haven’t been there in awhile but this visit was horrible and I will not go back. There was only about a ten minute wait to be seated but over an hour before the cook started making our food. No updates on how long we’d wait. The waitstaff didn’t have their hair tied up nor did they check on drinks with that long wait we had. If they had notified us it would be that long it would’ve been different. Our waitress was rude and had no desire to be there. The cook did not do any kind of show while making our food and one of the other guests at the table we were at had to tell him how to make the food. The vegetables were very undercooked but the chicken and shrimp were good at least. They don’t tell you there’s a $3 up charge per person if you want fried rice instead of steamed rice. The other cook was doing a decent show and involving the patrons at his table at least. Worst service I’ve had in a long time and it was disappointing being we paid almost $100 for 2 adults and a child. The women’s bathroom was dirty and the hand soap dispenser was sitting on the side of the small sink as it must’ve come off of the wall. It was very hot in there which we expected but there was no difference between being at the table and waiting in the front room or in the bathroom. It has really gone downhill with whomever owns...

Overall, not a bad spot! The course that came with the hibachi was really nice and not something you experience everywhere. The towels smelled odd (almost like feet, which threw us off but nothing a handwash didn't fix). I'm not sure if it is the cleaner that was used and the towels just sitting, but we would've preferred to skip the towels! If not for the towels, we would've rated higher! The steak, veggies, and rice could use just a little more flavor (maybe more garlic, salt, pepper, and butter, but less salt with the steak). The shrimp and chicken were flavored amazing as is! A mayo based sauce would be a really nice addition (yum yum sauce at some places), as the two here are very strong. We would definitely recommend! The pricing wasn't bad either!

Had a fantastic experience with my family here. My daughter had a birthday and it was our kids’ first Hibachi experience. Our cook, Hank, was absolutely amazing. Good food but also very skilled and entertaining. We had a large variety of everything from filet, to shrimp, to calamari, to salmon and all was fantastic. The fried rice was a little lack luster but it may have been because we used the gluten free soy sauce (so grateful that it was an option!) Overall will certainly be back and had a fantastic time.

Thank you for a great Valentine's dinner. Did the Valentine's special for a 3 course meal for two for $70. Our cook was awesome he actually talked to us and created a fun environment. About three items were forgot at our table but our cook was quick to solve the problem. The food tasted great and honestly the fried rice is still the best in town. Everything, even the steak and chicken was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. We definitely will be back again.
