Bramblebank Cottages — Hotel in Harrison Hot Springs

Our stay was unfortunately ruined by poor customer service and unacceptable behavior from the staff. We were told that we could use the hot tub starting at 9:30 PM, but after only 20 minutes, a staff member, accompanied by another individual who was extremely rude and appeared to be under the influence of drugs, came to the area and threatened us to leave. The situation was entirely uncalled for and handled in an unprofessional and hostile manner.

Our group consisted of nine people, and only eight were in the hot tub at any given time, well within reasonable limits. Despite this, we were treated disrespectfully and unfairly. The staff’s aggressive approach and lack of courtesy completely contradicted any expectations of a welcoming environment.

What was even more disappointing was the owner’s response to our feedback. Instead of apologizing for the unprofessional behavior, they justified it by citing the staff member’s gender, stating that addressing a group of men was “intimidating for her.” This is not only a deflection of responsibility but also blatantly sexist. Professionalism and respect are expected from staff regardless of gender, and such an excuse only reflects poorly on the management.

Additionally, the individual who accompanied the staff member was completely unprofessional, adding to the negative experience. Overall, the lack of accountability, the use of gender as an excuse for rude behavior, and the hostile approach from both the staff and management made this stay an unpleasant one. We stayed in the heritage suite for 2 nights. The owners were very accomodating and even gave us a play pen to use for our 1.5 yr old which was very clean and in great condition. Everything was spotless, even the fake plants were clean, the mini fridge in the kitchette worked great, coffee maker was clean, there were great instructions and answers to all our questions in a welcome book, we were not bothered our entire stay which was also nice as we were given the option to leave garbage and towel laundry out before 11am. TV with netflix very easy to use as the remote has a button that says netflix. The air conditioner was not outdated and worked great, digital display. The big jacuzzi tub had great water pressure and the shower head has different settings. Was able to fill bath and still shower after with hot water. The number lock to our front door was programmed to the last 4 of our phone number which made it easy to remember. There was a nice gift basket with a travel pillow, snacks, oatmeal, bottled water, hard candies. The common area was beautiful with a gas fire bowl and string lighting, hammock and tire swing, kayaks, wonderful tidy landscaping. We played a game of corn hole and there were plenty of other lawn games out. One street over from the beach will definitely be back. The only criticism I have is they are hard to reach by phone! My wife & I have stayed in Harrison several times over the last few years. Trying out cabins & cottages that we find. And yet. We had no idea that this was tucked a block away from the beach. Hidden from the town outside, it feels like you're in your own little part of the world when you enter their beautiful location tucked against the Miami River.

We were immediately greeted with a cute basket of goodies as a gift for reserving direct & it's little things like this that just make you feel more at home. The Sequoia Retreat cabin was the perfect honeymoon getaway; such a cute little spot for my wife & I to spend several days. From a stocked kitchen, a cute living room with fireplace & dining spot to the romantic bedroom complete with a gorgeous jacuzzi, to a extremely comfortable bed. We had everything we needed, making it hard to want to actually leave. But venture out we did. This is where Bramblebank takes the number one spot for us. Their property is full of activities from a deluxe hot tub, a cozy firepit to the wildly fun tire swing and serene kayaking along the river. That wasn't even everything! On top of other little activities, we also had access to a premium grilling station, with Napoleon BBQs, that we made sure to take advantage of.

As with everything else, the staff were also super friendly and helpful. We would 100% recommend this location & hope to come back again...
