Visiting my parents in Harrison as a former resident I was excited to try this (new to me) restaurant! My boyfriends Stir fry was delicious but I wanted to try the Ramen assuming it was authentic as I’ve been to many places in the city that share a similar menu as well as ramen. It was presented nicely with carrots, onions and some beef but I noticed almost immediately how it looked like the .98 cent Mr. Noodles. Now, as a university student I can assure you I’ve consumed plenty of store bought ramen as it’s quick, easy and cheap. I was pretty shocked to see that they are selling it for $12.95 for something that can be bought for a dollar or two if that! My boyfriend asked for more water and said he had seen the Mr. Noodle wrapper on the countertop. His food was good but if you’re going to advertise Ramen let it be known it is not authentic as it is VERY misleading. Service was great, we ended up sharing his food but that was just very disappointing to see in a community I absolutely...
Read moreThe food wasn’t bad but the service is mediocre. Most of the employees seem fine but the girl working the register that day was not great. They were busy when we arrived and so we were told (AFTER placing our order) “it is going to take a long time, at least 20-25 minutes”. We didn’t mind this wait so we went ahead with our order. However, it became very apparent that it was going to take much longer than this and we ended up waiting almost an hour. This was frustrating for 2 reasons, the girl at the counter misquoted us by quite a bit and she was not apologetic or sympathetic when we finally did get our food.
I do honestly think if she had just quoted us the accurate time we would have still waited, but with a much more reasonable mindset. It was just frustrating to knowingly be waiting over double the...
Read moreThis mom and pop small business is a real gem. The freshly made food and drinks were delicious and the service was very friendly. Ordered the Harrison Hot Chicken and rice balls, and Peach Ade.
The chicken arrived on a bed of cabbage, with peanut-shaped ddeok (rice cake), spicy mayo sauce and topped with peanuts. It was delicious! The chicken was soft and tender (not easy to do), and neither too salty, sweet nor too spicy (about 2 on a Spiciness scale of 5).
The rice balls were warm, and freshly made with flakes of kim (dried laver) for flavor. The peach-ade refreshing. I look forward to seeing more Korean fusion street food from Naked Chicken...
