As fate would have it, my girlfriend misplaced her purse in the pub, and it was only the next morning that we realized our misfortune. Upon returning to the pub, we were disheartened to find it closed, as indicated by the sign. However, our spirits were soon lifted when we encountered a kind senior gentleman at the liquor store adjacent to the pub. He graciously offered his assistance and helped us reach out to the staff, ensuring the safe return of our belongings. This act of kindness further exemplifies the exceptional qualities that make the Old Settler Pub and its surrounding community truly...
Read moreWe’ve been loyal customers of Old Settlers Pub for several years, and it’s always been our family’s favourite spot as we believe in supporting local businesses.Unfortunately, this year’s experience was extremely disappointing.
My husband, our 4-year-old daughter, and I visited the pub on a weekday around 7:40 pm. Right away, the hostess asked for two pieces of ID which felt unreasonable and backward . I had two pieces, but my husband had only one. Without hesitation, she said, “I can’t let you in.” Only after he showed a credit card did she reluctantly say ok. Next, we requested a table inside since we clearly saw unoccupied tables. The hostess told us they were “still setting them up,” even though that didn’t appear true. She took only our names not even a phone number and asked us to wait. We waited patiently until about 8 pm, when she came out again, only to say, “Sorry, we can’t let you in because kids aren’t allowed after 8 pm.” At this point, I was heartbroken. My daughter was hungry, excited for the meal, and this sudden refusal felt careless and inconsiderate. The whole interaction felt unwelcoming, dismissive, and frankly discriminatory. I couldn’t help but wonder, if we were a “White family,” would we have been treated differently? We didn’t argue and quietly decided to leave. Old Settlers Pub used to feel warm and inviting, but this experience has left us deeply disappointed. Sadly, they’ve lost a loyal customer who always spoke highly of them and recommended...

My wife, my toddlers (2.5 year old) and I went to the Old Settler pub on Canada day because the patio seemed really nice and it was slightly away from the main drag at Harrison Hot Springs.
The service / server was really friendly and fast. Inside was a typical pub layout. Lots of TVs for watching sports, a large bar, and it seems like they have a number of different events at the pub too!.
The patio was amazing. It overlooks a creek with lots of greenery and mountains in the background which creates an atmosphere that's peaceful.
It pub isn't on the main drag / road in Harrison, so you don't get the view of the beach / lake.
The food seems decent. It's your typical American pub food (pizzas, burgers, nachos, soups, wraps, etc.). They offer it at a pretty average price compared to other placed in Harrison Hot Springs and the portion sizes seem on the larger side. It's typical pub food. We weren't starving the three of us split the nachos. They were really large and same with a good amount of sour creme and salsa. I think our son really enjoyed it... which makes sense since it was basically chips for lunch. The cheese seemed to be creamier than normal - it's almost like they put the nacho cheese dip into the baked on cheese.
Highly recommended trying the Old Settler Pub. I'd go here again next time I'm in Harrison Hot Springs. I've been to Harrison Hot Springs a ton of times and have never been before, and I'm...
