Yikes! What terrible service from the blonde European lady over the weekend. It really put a sour on what was a good meal (foodwise). More about that below. We stopped by for breakfast after our weekend camping trip. Our first impression was positive, the high ceilings and quaint décor of the restaurant really gave it a homey feeling. Chicken & Waffles ($15) – THREE STARS The waffle was soft and delicious. The fried chicken was only ok, the chicken seemed to be overcooked but the flavour was nice. It didn’t come with any syrup or sauce – only some powdered sugar on the waffle. Croque-Madame ($15) – FOUR STARS Grilled cheese & ham sandwich with melted cheese, sauce and fried egg with hash browns. Very hearty and delicious dish! The sandwich was drenched in cheese and sauce which was awesome. The hash browns were cooked nicely – crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Service was incredibly slow and especially lacking for our table. I noticed that our server would check on every table besides us! She made her rounds for coffee and never stopped at our table. It took quite a long time to get our drinks (tea and coffee) and for her to take our food order. Once we got our food, we were at a standstill because we needed ketchup and syrup. We made eye contact with her several times in an attempt to get her attention, however she completely ignored us. Once we finally flagged her down, we asked for coffee, ketchup, syrup and water. She got 3 out of the 4 things for us but completely skipped over our water. Once we got our bill, it took some time for her to bring over the credit card machine. Once we paid, she flippantly muttered a thank you and already had her back turned toward us. We felt like we were an inconvenience to her the entire time! Not sure what we did to deserve this service or if she was just having a bad day! But her lack of effort and lackluster attitude from start to finish really turned us off.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally got the opportunity! It was very slow to get started with drinks and placing our order, but the overall experience was great. Our whole group enjoyed their breakfasts and I would definitely go back again! I loved that they had an option to get a half-sized Benny for $10.99 (comes with breakfast potatoes). I added the sausages. The portion of breakfast potatoes was a bit small but they were soo sooo tasty. “The Usual” for $16.99 was popular and i appreciated that it came with 2 bacon slices and 1 sausage, so that you don’t have to choose between protein. Having never been there before, I didn’t realize that the inside of the restaurant is quite cute! You’d never have known, since the outside of the building is quite simple. It was a bit loud and echoey inside once it filled up inside and with the coffee machines going. The restaurant also has a free parking lot for guests. It seems like they have a fancy espresso machine but the menu didn’t advertise those drinks (that I could see).

this place was incredibly quaint with delicious food. we came here twice over the 3 days we were at harrison because it was just that amazing. the croque madame had an amazing balance of flavors and the doneness of the egg was spot on. the eggs benny was not too salty and easy to eat. the potatoes were crispy and flavorful. good chicken and waffles, perhaps the chicken was a tad overcooked but you barely notice it and it tasted divine. i also really liked the fact that it came with bacon. they had excellent coffee, the caramel coffee in particular was really good. their pancakes were fluffy and sweet. service did take a long time but the place was packed both times we were there so i can't say i'm surprised. you must try this place, it's absolutely fabulous.

After reading about the outstanding reviews this establishment has recieved online. Me and my girlfriend decided to give this place a try during our first trip to Harrison Hot Springs.

The establishment was indeed cozy with a great atmosphere. However, what welcomed us was not the warm and friendly environment that we were anticipating.

It was 10:45am when we arrived, as we were waiting to be seated the waitress/host glanced at us and quickly said "sorry no new customers." with no further explanation. We at that point have not even told her what we were there for which was only to sit down and have a couple latté's to start our morning.

Due to the unexpected "welcome" we have recieved I told the waitress that I personally have never experienced a restaurant that has declined customers before. Her reply was that the restaurant was full with reservations and lots of customers.

I could clearly see a few open tables and customers currently enjoying themselves. However, there is definitely enough room to seat 2 patrons for morning coffee. The staff seemed to be shorthanded which is understandable why it would be busy, but wouldnt the standard procedure be to let the customer understand the situation and thank them for their patronage, elaborate upon the wait time and apologize for the inconvenience? It was only after we told her we were here for coffee that she agreed to help us by hastily pouring us 2 cups as if to get us as quickly out of here as possible.

Overall experience left quite an awful and honest first impression on Harrison Corner Cafe. The situation could have been mitigated if the waitress/host could have took a bit more time and care to make us feel valued, instead of like a fly to shoo away. Oftentimes, a little bit of courtesy and explanation can work wonders.

All the best to the owners of this establishment, may they reevaluate the way they handle this situation...
