We chose Pension Wok after reading all the amazing reviews here on Tripadvisor. But we were left a little dissapointed when what we got wasn't what we saw online. ||||I'm not sure if it was an error with the booking on our end, or that that was the last room available when we booked because the place was booked out when we arrived. But we got room no 1 on the ground floor. If suggest avoiding this room to get the real Pension Wok experience. ||||The whole problem was that the room was really small, hardly any place for our bags, let alone to walk around. But it sure was clean and comfortable which was all we needed for a one nights stay. What attracted us to Pension Wok was those windows and the balcony to people watch and take in the serenity. But what we got was so disappointing. The only windows in our room faced exactly where people were walking and leaving it open had people staring in at us in our rooms and listening to our conversations. It was upsetting but we didn't want it to ruin our holiday so we spent most of our one night's stay there outside, exploring beautiful little Cesky Krumlov. ||||Do note that reception closes at 5pm, and there won't be anyone there to check you in after that. There was a Korean couple who arrived at around 10pm and spoke hardly any English and we couldn't help them either because we didn't know how to contact the owner after hours. ||||If you're looking for a good clean place to stay in the middle of all the action in Cesky Krumlov then this is...
Read moreWould have easily been 4 or 5 stars if not for a few small details. Most importantly, we really enjoyed our room (#2) which was right above the river and the shared patio offers wonderful views of the river and city. The river is audible but not intrusive, and almost inaudible with windows closed. The room itself was modest but clean and well looked after and maintained. The bed was comfy and pillows satisfying. Bathroom was good size for this very old house and had both separate shower and nice soaking tub. Interactions with the Inn keeper were very nice. Noise from other guests was minimal and mostly limited to hearing them going in and out. i would stay here again, but A few things that could be improved:
we had to pay our full costs in cash. This wasn’t made clear to us and required an extra ATM trip (10min walk) at the end of our stay. We figured since they had taken our credit card they could just charge that.
Check in window is incredibly short at just 2 hours. Given the location away from major transport hub (Prague) this is a very small window to hit. We arrived about 5 mins after the window closed and no one was there to let us in. There is a small charge for late check in.
3)Be sure to communicate clearly if you want breakfast (additional charge). We thought it was...
Read moreWonderful. A house in the center of town but at the same time quiet.||Comfortable beds and mattresses in perfect condition; Practical bathroom without any problem with hot water or shower pressure (something essential for me). Minibar with cold beer at all times and facilities for making tea or coffee. A shared balcony where you can see sunrise in the wonderful village of Cesky Krumlov. Clean bedroom...In short, a house with all the advantages but none of the disadvantages of a hotel.||And if all this is well, the best thing is the treatment of the hostess, an educated and kind woman who will do everything possible to make you feel at home; but above all, an excellent cook. You will be a lucky person if during your stay she prepares her unique applestrudel.||pd: if you travel by car, you can park at the door to leave your bags and then go to any of the city car parks; but this is not necessary, we left our car on P3 and spent five minutes with our cabin bags to the...
