I visited with my wife, let me clear something out before writing the review: as we travel a lot and we also come from a tourist crowded country (Greece) we are always respectful towards locals and we never cause any troubles or arguments as we have our first priority locals!

The review: Food was really good but unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy it because we sensed an unwelcoming attitude against us as tourists the way they looked us they way they spoke to us versus the way they spoke to locals, they also said something about us in Czech laughing(I understood it because they used some things I asked), while they were seeing that we were having trouble understanding the menu (in English but we couldn’t exactly understand the combinations) they never offered any help and they seemed annoyed and weird when we asked something. The plates that they used were broken which was definitely a hazard. As I said.. food was indeed good but I wouldn’t recommend anyone visiting as a tourist.. seems they like locals.

We even gave a small tip just to maybe make the environment more friendly as we did nothing wrong yet we felt a...

Wau, just wau. Amazing offer every day. Really good price (for a restaurant in city center), around 60% of competitors price for same dishes. And big, and I mean really big load of food on a plate. This is first time when I am considering that I will order half-disk next time. Did I mentioned that the food is also ready and you don't need to wait for it? Only drawback can be that it is not possible to pay with card, but there is ATM on every corner, so it is no issue at all. The staff is really welcoming and nice. You can select 10-ish different dishes every day. Two soups or a Menu (few different mains + soup and desert). There is also some Senior menu, but I don't know details. The menu in ENG is available. The interior keeps the theme from 80's work or school canteen. Place is just for the lunch (closes at 15 p.m.). Nice touch for working people is possibility to leave an email adrress and the will send you menu on...

The food was good, but the atmosphere is terrible. At first you have to choose the dish and then you have to pay, only at cash register you receive information that there is no possibility to pay with card, the lady showed me printed piece of paper that I have to leave my ID, I can eat and then I have to go to ATM to get cash for them. I didn’t really want to leave my ID there so I wanted to give the dish back, because as I said if there would be info at the beginning that there is no possibility to pay with card then I wouldn’t order there, but nobody informed me. When I was looking for my ID she kept yelling at me and she was talking probably some rude things about me to other people in Czech language it was very unpleasant. To be honest I totally lost my appetite and I barely touched the food because I felt so unwelcome there. For tourist, I highly DONT recommend this place, only if you want to ruin...

I was reading that this is a must visit while in Prague as it gives you the most authentic local experience. Prices were very good, food was diversified and very tasty and so was the beer. I was surprised to see a lot of locals and tourists blending in. They also have a menu for retired people which I found inspiring. Brought to me some memories from the immediate post communist years so if you want to have this kind of experience I think this is the right place. I think that there should be more places like this all over the world for everyone to afford to eat out from time to time and for the tourists to find an authentic place to where they can taste local food and spend time among the locals.

This is an old-fashioned diner like in 90. th. Don't confuse it with a restaurant or pub. This is how the average Czech working person eats every day. There is no service at the table and it is OK this way. This is a diner. Take your tray, first pick a food then a drink and pay at the end of the line based on what is on your tray. Be aware they are not focused on tourists. Here you can find mainly locals. 8€/200kč for lunch, drink included is a great offer. The place is clean and the food is tasty. The only downside is that you can pay only cash here.
