Edit after 5 years - sad disappointment: I visited Czechia after 5 years living abroad and I booked Uber from the airport directly to Cukrarna Mysak. After a 20-hour-long flight, I couldn't wait to finally enjoy the iconic big vetrnik and velvet cappuccino again after years of missing it. I arrived slightly after 9am and unfortunately, I was told the big vetrnik wouldn't be ready till 11am. I couldn't wait that long. So my friend and I ordered different desserts and a cappuccino with cherry lemonade. We got only the desserts, after several minutes of waiting and when I noticed a man was served coffee even though he ordered after us, I asked the service about our drinks. They forgot. It can happen. They asked what we ordered, and we repeated cappuccino and cherry lemonade. We got strawberry lemonade 🤦♀️ And the cappuccino, tbh, is not as it used to be. It's watery, not velvet, very basic latte art...I miss the experienced baristas like Roman and Patrik. The last straw was when I paid for my order and was about to leave at 10am, I saw how they served the big vetrnik to a lady at the next table. I felt heartbroken. Originally, I planned another 3 meetings in Mysak during my stay in Czechia, but after this experience, I rescheduled all of them to different cafes as I felt very disappointed. The professional customer-first attitude, and friendly atmosphere are gone.
However, I can highly recommend Kuchyn in Pražsky hrad - the food is mouthwatering and the staff are lovely.
At least, I don't have to miss Mysak as I used to.
Original review 2020 The best cappuccino & desserts in Prague. The delicious taste is worth the higher prices. It can be crowded as it's in the center, especially during the weekends. The service is...
Read moreMyska has been one of my favourite places to go since I discovered in one of my trips visiting Prague. Four years ago I moved to Prague and was a frecuent customer and I brought all my friends and guests to this beautiful historic coffee place. However, today (27/02/2024) a few months since my last visit, I was greeted with a new 'system' that the new management has implemented. In each of the small tables, there is a card asking you to order at the cashier. Although the waiters and staff are very friendly, it takes away the feeling of stepping back in time, replaced by the self-service more common in the big chain coffee shops. And if this was not enough, the food also had a revamp. The usual breakfast had a missing egg, the poach eggs were little on the colder side, the presentation was lacking it felt like I was on a fast food restaurant. Same the bread before the eggs were served with two pieces of different breads.
What a dissapointmente! Not always the way forward...
Read moreThe place was very cute and elegant, however, my expectations were very higher that this. There are less than 10 tables available and the space itself is quite small. Staff is very fast, though. There is 1 toilet, only, which is quite bad since there was always queue. The staff told us to go upstairs to Mysak’s shop, where should be another toilet available. However, staff upstairs was quite upset with this explenation since they were told us those toilet is for staff, only. The main problem I see is the price versus portion of the sweets available. Even tho dessers were very good, it was extremely expensive comparing to other near coffee shops etc with very similar quality of products. Quite dissapointing to be honest. I am glad I finally got the chance to visit this place, however, next time, it will be only for trying a breakfast menu, maybe. Till then, I cannot really reccomend desserts from here,...
