5/5 with an important note; you need to be on a guided tour to see the cellars! Make sure you check the tour times at the office on the 1st floor (not the main floor) and book in advance! Do not count on the staff to help you or to even give you an honest or accurate answer while at the ticket office on the 3rd floor. The website is terrible I hope the fix it but the main combo ticket has everything there is to see.
YOU NEED TO BE ON A GUIDED TOUR TO SEE THE GOTHIC CELLAR AND ROMAN CELLAR! Time slots fill up so book your time in advance to avoid missing out!!! This can be done on the 1st floor, the guided tour is free with your paid admission but you must get an actual ticket with your actual tour time!
The regular 1 day ticket is actually really good has everything you need and INCLUDES the FREE GUIDED TOUR! (That's needed to see the cellars)
The tour is quite good and there is a lot more underground than I was expecting so if you're on a tight budget you could do this as it is quite reasonably priced and you see most of what you see on the "Prague underground tours' which are about three times the price.
I would really like to stress that as difficult as it was to get information from the website and even the staff I'd still consider this a must do! But make sure you get a ticket for a guided tour, it's free BUT YOU MUST GET A TICKET WITH THE TOUR TIME IN ADVANCE AFTER PAYING FOR THE TICKET! The tour is great, doing a self guided tour would be okay but you would miss out on the cellars and a lot of really interesting information so I strongly recommend getting on a tour! You see a ton of interesting things including some of the insides of the astronomical clock and you really can't beat the value of this tour.
The 2 day ticket however just seems pointless, you get to go up the tower a second time (once during the day and once in the evening) but there are soooo many towers in Prague that going up the same one twice is totally a...
Read moreThe Old Town Square is undoubtedly the most spectacular public square in Prague and has been the city’s heart and soul for nearly a millennium. The square grew to its current dimensions when Prague’s original marketplace moved away from the Vltava River in the 12th century. Its shape and appearance have changed little since that time, and today it continues to host the popular Easter and Christmas markets. You can witness some of Prague’s storied history that is preserved around Old Town Square in the form of its pastel-coloured buildings. The intriguing diversity of different architectural styles such as Art Nouveau, Gothic, Baroque, Rococo, Romanesque, and Renaissance will surely make your head twirl. One of my favourite buildings in the Old Town Square is the Ministry of Regional Development (Ministerstvo pro místní rozvoj) at number 6 on the north side of the square. It is a delightful Art Nouveau edifice with figures of firefighters on the upper facade. The hype about Prague’s Old Town Square is justified and it is no surprise that travellers from all over the globe flock here to see its beautiful architecture and vibrant atmosphere. In recent years, the square has become over-commercialized with overpriced restaurants and cafes, horse-drawn carriages waiting to ferry tourists around, and tacky souvenir shops. This still does not take away the...
Read moreStaroměstská radnice, located in the heart of Prague, is a beautiful and historic building that is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting the city. The building, which was first built in the 14th century, is a stunning example of Gothic architecture and features a variety of intricate details and ornate decorations.
One of the most impressive features of the Staroměstská radnice is its astronomical clock, which dates back to the 15th century and is one of the oldest and most complex astronomical clocks in the world. Visitors can watch the clock's hourly show, which features moving figures of the apostles and other characters.
The building also features a tower that visitors can climb for a stunning view of the city. The climb is quite steep, but the view from the top is well worth it.
In addition to its architectural and historical significance, the Staroměstská radnice also houses a variety of exhibitions and events throughout the year. From art exhibitions to concerts to cultural festivals, there is always something happening at this iconic Prague landmark.
Overall, the Staroměstská radnice is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting Prague. Its stunning architecture, historic significance, and cultural offerings make it a true gem...
