Havlik Apoteka — Local services in Prague

My friend and I had a very disappointing experience at this shop. I went along to help her with souvenir shopping, and from the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. Upon entering, we greeted the young saleswoman with a friendly, “Hello! Good afternoon!” — a basic courtesy in most countries around the world. To our surprise, she didn’t respond at all, not even a glance in our direction. The way she completely excluded us from any acknowledgment made us feel as though our presence was disruptive rather than appreciated.

Since we don’t speak Čeština, we tried to navigate the products on our own. Unfortunately, there were no English labels or signage, and the only guidance available was a poorly translated brochure filled with machine-translation errors. We ended up comparing brochures in four different languages and even resorted to using AI translation just to figure out what we were looking at. This felt absurd — especially when there was an English-speaking staff member right there who chose to ignore us. We eventually gave up and left the store.

Btw, I’ve noticed some reviews suggesting that negative experiences like ours must be fake or written by competitors. That’s unfair and dismissive. I also saw other Asian customers receiving similarly differentiated treatment and felt being targeted by racism. I wouldn't go that far, but it is hard not to feel that the shop has little intention of serving a diverse range...

Absolutely lovely experience at Pavlíková Přírodní Apotéka! I stumbled upon this beautiful natural cosmetics store and was amazed by the high-quality organic products they offer. Everything is thoughtfully crafted, and the vibe inside the store is peaceful and welcoming.

Visited on a Friday evening, and the lady at the counter was so friendly and helpful. She gave me tips on how she actually uses each product. She gave me some samples to try before I buy, which was really nice.
