We had tried to get in a few days before but it was fully booked. Therefore we made a reservation for a few days later on the last night of our stay.
When we arrived, the waiter couldn't locate our booking and so I had to show him the email confirmation on my phone. After a few minutes he took us to a table. The evening started off well. We had our order for food and drinks taken within good time. The lady gave us fresh bread and olive oil whilst we were waiting for our food to come, which was absolutely delicious. The starter (smoked salmon rolls) was divine and really well presented.
It was at the main course where things started to go wrong. We received our food not long after the starter had been taken away. I had the pork belly and my partner had the crispy chicken thigh. The lady who brought our food took my partners empty beer glass and asked if he wanted another, to which he said he did. We enjoyed our meals overall and the portions were of a good size. My only criticism of the pork belly dish was that it was incredibly salty. I asked a waitress for a jug of tap water as she passed us by, and she said that's fine I will get one. Over 15 minutes passed and no jug of water had been given. At this point I had to stop eating my pork belly dish. I asked our original server as she went by for the water jug again, and to also chase up my partners beer. Another 5 minutes passed and they bought a jug of water, for us to only then realised upon drinking that it was sparkling water.
Again we had to call the waitress over when she passed and explain that we'd asked for tap water and not sparkling water. She then took my plate away from me, not asking if I had finished eating, and when my partner was still eating his. I was waiting for the water to come to wash away the salty taste before I ate anymore. At this point we were getting fed up as it was ruining our meal, which was sad as it had started off so well.
Once we had drank the water and my partner had finished the meal, we asked for the bill. This is when we discovered they had charged us for the second beer that we never received! We eventually had to go up to prompt to pay as no one came to us. The lady did apologise for the delay and took off the beer, although she did seem a bit annoyed about this (but we hadn't received the product?!).
It is such a shame as food was pretty good but the service really...
Read moreA truly disappointing experience in The Hard Rock Hotel Prague. Firstly the layout and interior upstairs is nice but the downstairs and toilets are disgustingly dirty. There were 3 toilets fr male and females even though the sign said female. The paper towel dispenser was hanging off the wall and the area could do with a good clean never mind refurbishment. My friend and I sat outside and ordered shared nachos and added quacamole and steak!! When they came I actually thought they’d forgotten about the meat and put my phone torch on to find it!! I called the waitress over to check, she was abrupt and called the manager. I pointed out there was so little meat that I thought they’d forgotten about it! I’ve had this sharing dish many times in Hard Rock Cafes/ Hotels all over the world and was so disappointed especially since I’d recommended it to my companion !!! The manager did explain the meat content has been decreased by half in their servings in recent months but to be honest I’d say it’s more less than a quarter compared to what I’ve had in the past. This is unacceptable especially since the price has not decreased !!! Despite the unfriendly and abrupt manner of our server the manager was very pleasant and polite and apologised. He deducted the added cost of the steak but the whole evening was spoiled as a result of our visit as we’ d really looked forward to visiting here. We’re in Prague for a week and have had lovely food, service and experiences in every other restaurant we’ve dined in but this has been such a disappointment that it has put me off ever returning to this chain (which I loved...
Read moreThe food was delicious, but our experience there was awful. We were lucky enough to find a table. And the restaurant was on our list of restaurants to go to in Prague. After we initially ordered food, we decided to ask for french fries with mayo for our child. I think we placed the order 5 minutes after we placed the initial order, but we had to wait for 40 minutes for those french fries. At some point, the waiter was arguing with the chef about our french fries order, which was not nice. If somebody is messing up the orders, they should not argue in front of the clients about it. The food was very good, fresh and served hot. It's not expensive at all. But when we asked for the bill, we saw that they charged us 200 czk for 30 minutes in the kids' area, even though our child was with us at the table the whole time. When my husband went to ask about the charge, they argued that we took the child to the play area and accused us that we were lying. In the end, they removed the charge, but this experience canceled the fact that the food was good and that the ambiance was really nice. And if someone had said that there is a play area for kids, we would have definitely taken the child there, even though there is a charge for it. But the staff did not mention...
