The place looks absolutely beautiful, the food is decent, the prices are average. Still, me and my friends will not ever return there. The service was miserable. It all started when we went to the bar to pay. The gentleman did not speak english, but we know a bit of czech, he typed our order, let us know that we need to pay 600 czk, we paid by card and left. When we were in front of the restaurant, the lady that served us came after us, yelling at us that we did not pay. That's when the fun started. First of all, they never gave us a detailed list with the things that we paid in the 600 czk, so we asumed the gentleman at the bar did his job and actually charged us for our order. They started being very agressive and rude, when we were trying to explain that we already paid. They did not have a list with the things we consumed or with the things that we already paid. We were asking to see for what we paid the 600 czk before and they became even more rude. Instead of helping their colleague, the ladies who knew a bit of english, were saying in czech, that this(he/us?- my czech is not good enough) is stupid, "ty vole" and "jezis maria". They made everything feel even worse. We were not badly intentioned at any point. We were repeating over and over what we had, in czech, and the gentleman was trying to add more things to our list and convince us that for sure we had a large beer also and lemonade. In the end, it turned out that we did have to pay 125 czk extra, which we would have been happy to do from the begining, if the personnel would have done the math correctly in the first time. We never had any intention of not paying what we ordered, we just trusted them that they did their job properly when they first made our bill. It was a really miserable experience and honestly, this should have been handled with a lot more decency and diplomacy. We never had any bad intentions and we were calm and polite, yet we were made to feel like we were trying to steal from them or we were trying to trick them Very dissapointing!
Edit: there was another group in the same time, which had the same problem - the staff did not know what the people ordered. Maybe it's also a system problem. Which doesn't excuse the...
Read moreCozy interior, good Unetice beer, hostile service. I have visited your place two times - on Wednesday 26 October and Friday 28 October. Both times I have ordered Unetice beer 12 unfiltered which was really great. First time the barkeeper, man in his forties, behaved unfriendly and indifferent - probably he was just very busy as there were some other customers in the restaurant. But when I returned to the bar to return the glass, barmen walked past me into the kitchen, he pushed me and didn't even stop to apologize. The next time on Friday there was other barkeeper (lady with tattoos) who was really hostile against me. With all her appearance she showed disdain towards me as a customer ordering just one beer. I have ordered Unetice unfiltered beer 12, showing her the beer coaster with name Unetice 12 on it, but she poured me Unetice 10 instead. Not a big deal, I have asked her politely that I wanted other sort of beer and asked to replaced it. She looked very annoyed about it as if it was my fault. I have paid the difference 7 krones and finally got the beer that I wanted. In both cases, I got a strong feeling that I was not welcomed...
Read moreLegendary "Slamník of Bubeneč city". It is said to be one the first pub on the left bank. Neoclassical building from old-good-times has more than cosy beergarden, welcoming taproom and little concert hall. BTW concerts were held here since 60s and the pub used to provide asylum even for "underground" bands. Slamník serves famous traditional cuisine and daily smart menus. But having beef goulash or "Dutch schnitzel" is always a good choice. Unětice craft beers or fair Pilsner...
