We had a rocky start for this hotel even before we got here with the change of dates (the person managing the booking was quite cranky). But it ended very positively. Rooms The rooms are very nice and have a very vintage vibe. Ornate wooden furniture. A bit musty when we first entered. Opening the windows helped immediately. Very clean rooms and clean linen. Clean bath and toilet. Amenities Bath towels, face towels and bath mat provided. No toothpaste. Basic shower gel and shampoo sachet. Carry your own. Iron for clothes provided on request. Property There's no elevator and the spiral staircase is quite narrow. Solo travellers beware of heavy luggage. There's no one to help either. Usually there's only one staff member at the reception from 09-2100. Location Right in the middle of the centre of Old Town. So the location is the highlight of the property. One won't miss the lack of any breakfast or food options as there's plenty in the area.

Loved the place! Different atmosphere than your regular cutout cookie hotel. Old building with it's own charm. Convenient location right in the heart of the historic center. Receptionists were very polite and helpful.

On the positive side: great location. Ok rooms and cleanliness. |But that's about it. |Both in the reviews of the hotel and in their own brochure they boast about their breakfast buffet. What did we get? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even a glass of water. The young man who met us when we checked in told us that there were boilers in the rooms, and tea and coffee. There wasn't. |He later told us that he was wrong, but that we could use the kitchen on the 1st floor. Not very tempting. It was full of used glasses and mugs, there was not even a cheap little teabag for us, but a cupboard with a sign on it: Only for staff. This kind of "welcome" belongs in a cheap youth hostel, not in an expensive hotel. We checked prices in the neighbourhood. All of them would have been a better deal than this one. What a lie. What a disappointment. And to add to all of this: Not a single café in the neighbourhood that opens before 10 or 11, where you can get a nice breakfast. |Many others have mentioned the stairs. They are terrible. And try to get some help with the suitcase from the young woman at the reception? Forget it. I was probably three times her age. Not one finger to help. She definitely had had vinegar for breakfast. |Two of the others we met were nice, but it does not improve the overall impression of an overpriced, overrated hotel that even today lies about what they...

Overall, this is a great hotel that’s in a fantastic location, but there are a few things that could’ve made our stay better. ||1) There is no elevator. So if you have heavy luggage, you need to be able to carry/drag your bag up a couple flights of stairs. ||2) The guy at the front desk didn’t seem to have any idea as to what he was doing when we checked in. He got our groups rooms mixed up, and messed up everyone’s passport info, so he had to come back and get them a second time. ||3) There was an AC in the room, but it was apparently broken, or nobody could figure out how to get it to work. Also, it seemed like there were oscillating fans in every room except ours. So our room had stale air the whole time we slept. ||4) Since it is located in a very popular area, it gets very loud at night. Make sure you have earplugs or some kind of sound generator if you are a light sleeper. ||Like I said, overall the room and location were fantastic, but there were a couple of things that should be worked on (working AC/fan and more helpful staff) or that you should be prepared for (no...
