Chez Yang is a rather underwhelming dining spot that struggles to live up to its supposed reputation. The ambiance feels outdated, with décor that seems stuck in the early 90s and furniture that has seen better days. The lighting is dim, not in a romantic way, but more in a "we forgot to replace the bulbs" sort of way, creating a rather dreary atmosphere.
The menu at Chez Yang is uninspired and lacks any standout dishes. Many of the items are overly greasy or bland, with ingredients that don't seem particularly fresh. Portions are inconsistent, often too small for the price being charged. Service is another weak point; the waitstaff appear disinterested and occasionally forget orders, resulting in long waits for food that isn’t worth the wait.
Cleanliness is also a concern. Tables are often sticky, and the overall hygiene of the place leaves much to be desired. The restrooms, in particular, are poorly maintained, adding to the overall feeling that the establishment doesn’t prioritize customer satisfaction.
In summary, Chez Yang fails to impress on multiple fronts—food quality, service, cleanliness, and ambiance. It's hard to justify a visit when there are so many better...
Read moreAfter being in Europe for four months we were really craving some Chinese food and Chez Yang did not disappoint. We ended up coming here for dinner two nights in a row.
The first night we ordered Mongolian beef, mixed vegetables (they called it chop suey), cantonese fried rice and a bowl of hand made noodles with chicken soup.
The second night we ordered hot & sour soup, vietnamese spring rolls, fried pork & ginger dumpling, mabo tofu, crispy chicken & ginger sauce and satay chicken.
Everything was very good except the cantonese fried rice and the satay chicken. The fried rice was light on flavor and the satay chicken tasted more like a sweet curry chicken.
The staff is incredibly friendly and spoke Cantonese, English, French and Mandarin. Great place if you're in the mood...
Read moreOur primarily Asian hiking group was booked a reservation here by our tour company to celebrate the end of the Tour de Monte Blanc. It was SO HOT in the restaurant with no air conditioning at all. We sat there with no water on the table for almost 30 minutes before someone took beverage orders and before the food that was ordered in advance arrived. My wife and I both ordered lemonade and they brought 7-UP or Sprite. We asked about this and they said that is what we get when we order lemonade. What do they give you if you order 7-UP or Sprite? The food was average and apparently this place is supposed to be the best Chinese food in Chamonix. They have no idea how to make good rice in Europe. Very disappointed overall and would...
