Do not do a paid city tour (its not worth it). Enter Rike Park (free to enter). Look for the cable car ticketing office (you may face a queue depending on the time you visit - best to visit in the morning). The view at the top was amazing (you get a better view. Carry cash and purchase a "metromoney" card - 2 lari and get a 2-way ticket which is 2.5 lari at the moment for each side. Wear a comfortable dress (not fancy) and wear comfortable shoes. Don't book tickets in advance. Just walk in stand in the queue and enter. They are not organized so even if you have tickets, you still have to wait in the queue like the rest of the visitors.
On-site signage and information could need to be improved. Keep the kids closer as the place doesn't have a fence at the top. You will find plenty of shops which sell souvenirs. Carry water and snacks - shops here will rip you off.
Nearby attractions : Mother of Georgia, Souvenir Street shops, Botanical garden (a waterfall was inside - but was closed during my visit), Zipline (not recommended though), Narikala fortress (don't waste your time visiting this).
