SCAM ALERT: ME by Melia Cabo - A Predatory Beach Club Masquerading as a Resort Save yourself thousands and endless headaches - ME by Melia Cabo is nothing but an elaborate scam targeting unsuspecting travelers. The deception starts before you even arrive and continues throughout your stay. Speaking of deception - they advertise "included" whale watching tours with signs right at their activities desk, but surprise! When you actually try to book one, suddenly it's not included at all. Just another bait-and-switch tactic in their endless arsenal of scams. Let's talk about the highway robbery: $20 USD drinks (and you'll need them to tolerate this place), and $100 fee if you lose their precious wristband. The food is an absolute insult - we paid $150 for salty fried rice and the blandest sushi imaginable. The greatest scam? Their sister property, Paradisus, offers ALL-INCLUSIVE service for the SAME PRICE. Let that sink in. But the real scam is marketing this as a hotel at all. Massive concert-grade speakers and subwoofers taller than a person blast mind-numbing bass from noon until 2 AM - that's 14 HOURS of non-stop club music vibrating through your room. Your door will literally rattle from the bass. Good luck finding peace anywhere on the property, which is absolutely tiny. Want to escape to the beach? Sorry, they've somehow managed to monetize every square inch of what should be public beach access. There's literally nowhere to sit without paying extra fees. The property presents itself as a luxury resort but operates like a bottom-tier spring break destination. During our brief stay, we witnessed drunk, unconscious guests being ignored by security staff and drunk patrons verbally assaulting hotel management - real 'luxury' experiences there. While most staff are friendly (probably from sheer embarrassment), management showed their true colors when we tried to escape this nightmare. Erick was the supervisor who did virtually nothing to resolve our issues. We just needed to get out of the hotel as fast as possible. They attempted to pocket $600 by withholding a legitimate refund for an unused night. Only after hours of arguing (and literally shouting in the lobby) did they attempted to do anything to help us. They refused to give us any confirmation other than verbal confirmation that they were going to refund the reservation. We ended up needing to contact our credit card to open a claim. The only positive? The view - which you can get at ANY hotel in this town, minus the spring break chaos and relentless price gouging. This isn't a hotel - it's a predatory scheme with rooms attached. Walking past other nearby hotels, we could physically feel the atmosphere become more relaxing with each step away from ME by Melia. The fact that they charge the same rates as their all-inclusive, stunningly gorgeous sister property Paradisus just proves what a complete scam this place is. Everything about this place is designed to extract maximum money while providing minimum value - right down to their fake "included" amenities. Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else in Cabo. This place is the definition of a tourist trap.

TL;DR- MUST STAY. 11 out of 10! This is my second to trip to Cabo in the last 3 years and I am so glad I picked a new resort to stay at. There are amazing restaurants both inside the hotel as well as outside. The walk to the marina and the livelier part of downtown is only about a 14 minute walk away. This is not just any hotel resort; this is a curated, personalized stay and something I want people to experience. I have found my home away from home. Personally, traveling alone as a woman (to a country where you don’t speak the main language) is nerve wrecking and can even feel scary. I have traveled and stayed at many hotels around the world, but ME Cabo is hands down THE BEST experience. You do not have to pay an insane amount but you will be treated like royalty. The decision to stay at ME Cabo took 4 months of researching, but it was well worth it. The moment your taxi pulls up to the lobby, you will be left speechless. From being greeted by staff who are dressed to match the vibe of the hotel (& everyone is beautiful), to the complementary champagne, and finally the most breathtaking and unobstructed view right out into the ocean with the famous El Arco de Cabo San Lucas. Even with free champagne and the view; it ultimatley was the service and attention to detail of the staff that took this resort to the next level. You know they truly care about and go above and beyond for their guests. You will be TREATED LIKE ROYALTY. ME+ rooms come with your own personalize staff member. (And I’m not referring to the concierge desk at most other hotels.) A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the concierge assigned to me - Mr. Eduardo. He was extremely personable and caring, knew all the great spots for authentic, cheap food. He ensured that I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. He was patient and answered all my questions. I was stressed out from having to work a couple days while staying there and his infectious smile would always make my day better. I’ve been raving about ME Cabo to friends and family. I will definitely be back soon and we would want Edurado to be our concierge!

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at ME Cabo. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the views are beautiful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well appointed. We appreciated the robes, flip flops and slippers provided, too! Our concierge, Paulina, was very kind and attentive. She offered us many good suggestions on where to eat and dealt with our spa reservations and airport pickup so that we didn't have to worry about it. We felt very taken care of by Paulina, and were grateful for her help and guidance. We ate dinner at Mamazzita and the Funky Geisha, both of which were delicious. We really enjoyed the complimentary appetizers we got with our meals. Servers at the restaurants were very attentive, and were careful to check for allergies. The appetizers and drinks we got at Taboo Beach Club were good, albeit quite pricey for poolside food. Unfortunately, it rained every day we were there, so we weren’t able to check out Confessions Skybar. The massages we got at Korpo were wonderful. My therapist (I believe her name was Carol or Karen) was very skilled and adapted to meet my specific needs. It was such a luxurious experience and left me feeling so relaxed. One issue we encountered was difficulty getting service at the pool. On one occasion, we had to flag down a server after waiting for service for over 20 minutes (and we were the only two people at the pool). Perhaps, there’s a different service culture in Mexico. Or perhaps we’re not assertive enough. Regardless of any issues we had with flagging down servers, they were all incredibly friendly and kind. I cannot emphasize that enough. Another issue was the inconsistency in details such as the restaurant/bar hours and menu items. For example, the Melia app had different hours listed for some of the restaurants— the app said one of the restaurants was open for lunch when the TV in our room said otherwise (little things like that). We got the feeling that the app is new, so maybe they’re still figuring out the kinks. Overall, we had a fantastic time despite the little hiccups.

SCAM ALERT: ME by Melia Cabo - A Predatory Beach Club Masquerading as a Resort

Save yourself thousands and endless headaches - ME by Melia Cabo is nothing but an elaborate scam targeting unsuspecting travelers.

But the real scam is marketing this as a hotel at all. My girls and I stayed at MECabo for 5-days/4-nights during mid-August. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, clean, safe, and active. There were 3 restaurants, rooftop bar, 2 pools, and the walk-up ocean activities. The staff was so awesome! Momo the receptionist checking us in was so accommodating because we originally had booked for our rooms to be next to each other because we came with a group, and it ended up not being possible and she upgraded us for the inconvenience as if it was even one. We also were greeted with champagne when we walked-in which was unexpected! Our concierge Maria was very helpful with activity suggestions, accommodations, needs, questions and all! Daniel, Andres, Johatt at the mamazzita restaurant were on top of everything for us, I felt like I was wined and dined. They were fast, accommodating, knowledgeable, and positive the entire time. Fabiola was my masseuse at the spa and I was blown out of this world. Now I have a lot of knots in my entire back and she looked about half my size I told her some small details about me needing extra pressure and didn’t have to speak a word the entire time! She was focused, calming, welcoming and did an amazing job. Derek & Ben at the bars were so helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating and fun! Being a bar tender can be hectic but they surely knew how to handle it all. Marco a server at the pool was so nice and helpful! We were in room 618 and our cleaner (forgot her name) was so sweet and helpful with everything we needed. We had an amazing time although we came during Hurricane Hilary so sadly we really couldn’t enjoy the amenities of the hotel because of the emergency weather. But this is where the kind hotel staff came through - an out of control weather inconvenience and they stepped up comped us a 20-minute massage and gave an interactive guacamole making class, thank you to Victor and Roman!!! They did an awesome job. Really appreciated this! The food, aesthetic and vibes at Taboo and Mamazzita was amazing!!! One thing I will say is because this (hotel and restaurants) is a “destination” place it got extremely busy and unorganized in the evening for our Taboo dinner reservations - we were assured by a gentleman that we’d be taken care of and we were though I would just plan ahead or show up as early as possible and let them know you’ll be staying until the evening to secure a table for the party festivities. Hotel is close to bars & clubs and is a great active area anyways! Really appreciated everyone. Side note: take Ubers even from the airport it is so so so much cheaper! Make sure to book not within the hurricane/rain season! Surely exchange some cash it’s nice to have pesos because the conversion gets funny - also they always want to put the bill on one card and it can’t be a cashapp card so make sure to prioritize all bundling group dinner money on someone account before cause all the charges can get mixed up especially with frivolous $ people! All in all it was a wonderful trip with amazing amazing staff, views and vibes. Thank you for our lovely...

I had a wonderful 4-night stay at ME Cabo this month and would definitely go back. The resort was beautiful, clean and centrally located. The staff was extremely accommodating from the moment you walked into the hotel and we were assigned the most amazing concierge by the name of Ana. Ana helped us book almost every restaurant reservation on and off the property, gave great recommendations and also helped us book massages and off resort excursions. She tried to find us at least once a day to check in on us and gather any feedback we had from the previous day. She was always available via a WhatsApp chat and truly provided a white glove treatment to my friends and I. She even set up a little champagne treat in our room on our last day.

I can be very picky with hotel rooms and I was impressed with ours. We did have 3 adults in one room with 2 full beds so it was definitely a tight space but in terms of the accommodations I’d say everything was very well done, up kept and clean.

We ate at every restaurant on property except for Funky Geisha. We found the service & staff to be so nice and always willing to make things right even when there were some hiccups. For example at breakfast at Mamazzita we waited a while for some things and got a little frustrated but the manager came over immediately and apologized and even comped some items which we did not expect! It’s not about getting something for “free” but more so appreciating how they recognized when the service could have been better and they acted quickly to try and provide some type of solution. This was we really appreciated and why I would recommend this resort. Similar situation happened for dinner at Tabo and the manager really wanted our honest feedback and did what he could to still provide an enjoyable experience. We always had a fabulous time at the rooftop restaurant Craft. Once again the staff was just so kind and helpful. We watched the superbowl game up there and had a blast. We had the same waiter twice, his name started with a B (maybe Bern, unfortunately I can’t recall exactly) and he was wonderful, 10 out of 10!

The pool area was nice and it was easy for us to always find chairs. We enjoyed the dj and overall atmosphere.

We loved the location of the resort. You are on the swimmable beach where you can simply walk along the sand to visit other restaurants if you want something a little different or more affordable than what the hotel offers. There are many excursions, activities, massage spots just steps away from the hotel.

On our last night we took the 40 min drive to Nobu for dinner and as much as that was a gorgeous property and food was superb, we just kept thinking how much we liked the location of ME Cabo much better because there was some much surrounding the hotel versus that part of the city, where there wasn’t much and you would be forced to only stay on the hotel property. Nothing is walkable...
