My experience at Hotel Lotus Inn, Pokhara was horrible. Although we had a confirmed booking done several days ago, when we arrived in the evening the owner simply refused to let us in even though we had a small child with us. He abused us because we were Indians, and threw away the confirmation voucher saying he never gets money from Indian travel portals and he didn't receive any notification from Cleartrip confirming the booking. I am pretty sure he had given the room to someone else and was lying through his nose. He was uncouth, boorish, inconsiderate. Since our Indian SIM did not work in a foreign country, we could not contact Cleartrip to lodge a complaint there and then. Placed in this situation, we had no option but to book another hotel at a very high price. ||Lotus Inn is run by fraudsters. They take money from Indians by listing their hotel on Indian travel portals, and then do not let Indians into their property, even abuse them. I have travelled to many countries, but haven't met anybody as racist as these guys. You should definitely avoid this hotel if you...
Read moreI think I got two ticks from the bedding at this hotel. I donât want to rate the place low because it was good otherwise, but other travelers should know.||I stayed here three nights, four days. On day 2, I found a tick on my body. The owner said they donât come from Pokhara, so likely from my last stop in Lumbini. I said ok, and scanned my body for other ticks. Then day 3 evening I got another tick. By then I didnât have time to move hotels, so I just stayed. I think I found small ticks in the bed, but it wasnât definite. ||I informed the hotel staff. Hopefully they addressed it, but they didnât offer any refund or solution. If they respond to this with any helpful info, Iâll update my review.||Otherwise, itâs a good hotel for the price: ~$10 USD/night (mid feb). Some features... decent hot water, nice rooms, fairly clean, patio, good location near central lakeside. Wi-Fi works in...
Read moreThe staff was very helpful. Gave me a choice of rooms, rushed to do my laundry for trekking the next day without charging more, and booked my bus to get to the start of the Annapurna Circuit for a minimal extra cost.
They also stored my bags for free and the wifi actually works really well, even on the top floor corner where I was. Thatâs not usually the case Iâve discovered.
Itâs very central. You can walk from the bus station in about twenty minutes and to the trekking permit office in about fifteen.
Itâs cheap for its location as well, everything else nearby was over 1000 rupees. The rooms are comfortable, theyâre not luxury but you get what you pay for and in this price range...
