Disappointed with the service – Not family-friendly
I recently visited Hotel Mala with my wife and 3-year-old daughter, planning to stay for 2 nights. We checked in around 3 PM. The room was okay, but the housekeeping staff's behavior was unwelcoming and unprofessional – murmuring and giving off a negative vibe.
The real disappointment began in the evening. Around 7:45 PM, we ordered jaulo (baby food) and a glass of milk for our daughter through reception. The response was shocking – they said it would take about an hour. At 8 PM, we received another call saying they couldn’t prepare the food at all as the kitchen was too busy. This is basic service in a hotel and especially important for families with kids.
I went to the reception to request again, but got the same careless response. Frustrated and helpless with a sleepy child, I searched for another hotel, found Hotel Kunja, and decided to leave. When I informed the reception that we were checking out due to poor service, they didn’t even try to retain us or apologize. Instead, they insisted on charging the full amount, even though we barely used the room and only consumed a bottle of water.
No manager came when I requested one, and the receptionist didn’t handle the situation well at all. Thankfully, my friend who helped book the room intervened and helped resolve the issue to some extent.
Overall, a pathetic and unprofessional experience. I do not recommend this hotel, especially for families. Basic courtesy and hospitality were missing throughout our short and...
Read moreFirst of all, the prices for the room when enquired varied. when I phoned the reception day before the price were different to what was online, and on arrival. So making it easy to understand the prices and clear room rates will be good. For example, deluxe room I was told 15000rs for three nights on phone but showed 80USD online and when staying in premium was told the rate was 4500rs per night.
We had 3 nights booked for economy room but later had to change to premium for our last night there because of the noise from the guests next door. The economy room I would not recommend if you staying in. The room next door was separated by a door which let the noise into our room easily and the washing company need to wash the linen better as most of the bed sheet had stain. so, paying that extra 800 rs to upgrade to premium was worth for better night sleep and comes with the good front view.
Great pool area with good view of the surroundings with glimpses of lake nearby and the mountains.
With few of these details corrected and better looking after the guest, I think the hotel will be great place to stay with its...
