Hotel Mountain Dream — Hotel in Pokhara

We booked Hotel Mountain Dream after our visit to Kathmandu, mainly because the pictures and details showed AC rooms with proper facilities. Based on that, we booked 3 rooms for our family, including a 6-month-old infant and 6 more children.

However, the moment we entered the rooms, we were shocked to find no air conditioning, no proper ventilation, and extremely humid conditions. All family members, especially the children and women, were feeling uncomfortable and sweaty.

When we raised this issue with the hotel staff, their behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the concern, they spoke loudly and disrespectfully, showing no concern for the fact that we had small children and ladies with us. They refused to return the full payment, and it was clear that they had no intention of helping us.

It felt as though they assumed that, as Indians, we wouldn’t know the rules, regulations, or our rights as guests. This was not only insulting but also disheartening, especially considering the long-standing friendly relationship between India and Nepal.

In India, we follow the culture of “Atithi Devo Bhava” (Guest is God), but unfortunately, our experience in Nepal was quite the opposite.
