Boracay Midtown Hotel — Hotel in Malay

We booked this hotel at a very reasonable price and we weren't really expecting much - just clean room and comfy bed. First impressions were already not good because we could not locate the hotel. Google pointed us to a different alley and we wasted a lot of time walking asking different people if they knew where it was located. We could not connect to the number indicated on our booking form either.||||Anyway, it's located a few meters away from the beach but you won't be able to find it easily. If you're coming from the beach, find the tiny doorway/alley between Deparis and Mandarin. From the main road, you tell the driver to drop you off at the Ciriaco Tirol Hospital. As for the contact number, I let the staff know I couldn't reach the number they posted but I didn't get their number since we were only staying one night.||||It's a two-story hotel so no elevators. The rooms are equipped with card keys that work even when there is no electricity (which happens during the day because as of writing, the island is still a construction site). It has hot/cold shower (no tub). Our room is not clean. Clearly, it hasn't been clean. The remote of the airconditioner wasn't working. We have to call the staff for assistance. And it took him awhile to resolve the issue. We actually requested to be transferred since we wanted to sleep and rest for a bit. They did not even consider our request. Bathroom. No shampoo, soap, tissue and shower curtain. You can't even properly close the bathroom door.

Hotel was near the hospital. It is on the alley of mandarin spa if you are coming from the beach. Safe. Only has few toiletries (literally so bring your own). No free water & coffee but has cup, saucer & electric kettle. Has hot & cold shower, towels & tv with signal cable. No restaurant or pool. Bed might be too soft but has 2 pillows each for deluxe twin room. Very good for budget travellers since you wont be staying too much in the hotel anyway (only for sleeping).
