Sizzling mixed Seafood platter - While the overall taste of the food is good, I think it's quite expensive for what we got. The platter is huge but most of it is the aromatics - huge chunks of onion, and bell peppers. The mussels were so small and few. The shrimps are huge but a bit few as well, the fish that we got is also just a portion of 1 fish. I believe we got a much bigger serving of mixed seafood platter in Puerto Galera for just half the price of Hobbit Tavern's. I believe there are better seafood platters in Boracay as well. Sizzling Liempo - the taste is great but nothing special. It's worth ordering if you're craving for the staple Filipino food though. The serving is good for maximum of 2 persons. Service - This is I believe where Hobbit Tavern excels the most. Their servers (particularly Ate Deserie) are very friendly and attentive. When she noticed me doting on the "Stray Cats" roaming around the restaurant, I eagerly introduced each one of them as the part of the Hobbit Tavern family. They even named two of the cats as Hobbit and Tavern. haha. Location - conveniently located in D'Mall. The restaurant itself is quaint, cozy, and instagrammable. There are plenty of replicas of world famous paintings, and the lighting is just so warm...

The only thing Irish about the place is the Guinness on the menu. Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling and copies of famous paintings all over the walls hardly constitute an Irish setting so no idea where the name and logo comes from.
We were really excited to visit here as we both work in an Irish bar and were looking forward to getting photos with the staff. By the end of our meal we were so fed up we left in a terrible mood instead.
The bangers & mash was cold & the gravy was the same grey watery stuff you get from kfc here expect it’s in a tiny thimble sized tin Smaller than a shot glass.
The katsu curry came on a sizzler dish, why I’ve absolutely no idea because the rice was burned at the bottom due to this and gloopy and starchy in the middle. ( how the hell Philippinos can get rice wrong I’ll never know) the chicken was actually ok but had no place being on a sizzler plate.
We then waited 20 minutes on ( no joke) the worse banana split I’ve ever seen. We got 3 scoops of ice cream with a soggy brown slug like slice of banana hidden under the ice cream. How it took them 20 minutes to concoct that is also a mystery.
To round off the experience the bill also...

The service is great and with a smile, drinks were cold and the decor is nice and the live music fantastic. But that’s where the positives end.
Given this place markets itself as a more western Oriented place we we’re looking forward to a bit of respite from the sweet, Filipino food.
I ordered the roast chicken with sides, the chicken came out cold. It obviously had been refrigerated and warmed up rather than cooked fresh. The “sides” were a slice of lemon, 3 overcooked green beans and the lumpiest mashed potatoes you’ve ever had in your life. The staff offered to microwave my meal to heat the chicken up but to be honest with you I didn’t feel great about being served tepid chicken so I declined and fed some of it to the restaurant cats.
My husband ordered the bangers and mash. They advertise British sausages on the menu but they were just little American breakfast sausages served on the same lumpy mash and some grilled onion.
They did offer us a discount on our order because we basically didn’t eat any of our food but even then it was very expensive for what was...
