Be advised: checking in after 7pm is not possible. We should know, we arrived at 7.03pm. We were requested to leave the premises despite trying to apologise and having made a reservation beforehand. Now the 1 star is not for this precision of timemanagement at the gate, I can respect punctuality and of course it was us who were late despite warnings in mail and per website. It’s because of the inflexibility and that we were not given the opportunity to explain ourselves why we were late as the owner walked away again immediately, clearly agitated.
Bad reviews, however, should always be accompanied by constructive feedback. Therefore some tips for the owner: You could consider checking in people with a reservation the next day, but still let them find their spot on your site in the meantime (e.g. by posting a note on your door). Lots of campsites work this way. We tried calling you 2 times before arrival to warn you that we were late but the phone was not answered. Whats the point of having a phone number if you’re not answering it during reception hours? There are great solutions to forward incoming phones to a mobile phone or having an answering machine give instructions. As a guest, being late is of course not very elegant if you warned us both per website and per mail that check in ends at 7. If punctuality is a big deal for you, consider ending official check in times earlier to allow for some flexibility in time for people that arrive only minutes too late. People having escaped rigid office times love some flexibility...

We stayed at this incredible campsite back in May in our self-converted van, and it was one of the best camping experiences we’ve had!
The site itself is absolutely beautiful. Each morning, we woke up to the peaceful sounds of birds and ducks by the lake, giving us a truly serene start to the day.
Being an adults-only site was a huge plus for us—it really added to the tranquility we were looking for. The pitches are generously sized and well-spaced, providing plenty of privacy. Everyone was considerate and kept to themselves, though perhaps they just didn’t want to chat with us in our humble self-made camper when they had their high-tech setups! But then again, we were in the Cotswolds.
One of the best parts was that it was only a short 10-minute walk into town, which was perfect for exploring Bourton-on-the-Water. We loved being able to stroll in for the day, enjoy the charm of the village, and then return to the peaceful campsite.
The hosts, Nick and Tracey, were amazing. They were super accommodating with our late arrival and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. When we ran out of camping gas, they even let us rummage through their garage with them to see if they had any to spare. Their hospitality truly made our stay special.
Like others, I hesitated to write a review, wanting to keep this gem a secret. But a place as fantastic as this deserves to be shared. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with welcoming hosts and great access to town, this...
Read moreWe are just back after spending a fabulous week here. It was our first visit so like anyone going somewhere new you wonder if the great reviews are going to match expectations. We were not disappointed!! We were met by the owners(who were lovely), it was pouring rain on arrival but Nick(owner) made sure we were perfectly pitched (getting very wet but not phased by it😀)helping turn the caravan so we could look out over the lake There is a toilet block-4toilets, 1shower and a small wash up area, not state of the art but spotlessly clean and perfectly adequate. The site is home to an abundance of wildlife swans, ducks, geese, deer with beautiful walks around the lakes, woods and meadow. This is a dog friendly site so these walks were just perfect for our mutt. We were a 10min walk from the centre of Bourton On The Water which is an easy traffic free stroll down. Lots of pubs, restaurants, a supermarket plus other known attractions in the town to visit, there’s even space to put down your picnic blanket on the grass by the river and watch the world go by! As I said this was our first visit, we needed a complete chill out from our busy life and we certainly got it at Cotswold Carp Farm..we return in September, and then on for more after. Thankyou CCF for providing such a tranquil setting for...
