Would not recommend. If you voice your disappointment with something and want to have a conversation, they physically assault you. The woman grabbed my arm as I was leaving and I had to forcefully say donât touch me twice till she let go and stopped pulling me. Not sure how they handle customer service elsewhere but in this country you donât assault the customer. You have a calm and respectful conversation. Being barbaric and uncivilized is not how it should go. I will say they did a decent job with tightening the waist area. I think theyâre good at doing low skill work but anything requiring high skill may be better off sending elsewhere. I also think their pricing is good and in line with other tailors in the area (nothing out of the expected range).
Itâs fair to mention that part of this may have been due to a language barrier. I mentioned that I wanted to adjust the breast area from the sides and she understood it as me saying I want her to work on the dress from the side versus the top (which is more expensive and she told me that the first time I came in to alter the dress). I came back a second time to get that adjustment done and said Iâm willing to do whatever method you want as long as the side breast area is covered and itâs done well but she took it to mean just working from the side of the dress and not the top and then called me cheap (in front of other customers) for not wanting to do the work from the top when I said Iâm down for whatever as long as the side area is covered well. I came back to do the adjustment the second time after being aware of the price so I knew what I was getting into but obviously I asked for a better price and didnât get it but then being called cheap for a misunderstanding you had is wild. Finally, she was incapable of carrying a professional conversation. Just straight up started yelling. I eventually realized it was just not worth it and getting another dress is better cause the headache and harassment was too much for me to wait for her to calm down and fix the dress to my liking.
If they respond itâs probably gonna be entertaining, animated and sprinkled with lies so definitely check back and see the punches theyâll throw (too bad they canât assault me physically anymore)
I wish this business luck. I think they had the potential to be a great place but yelling and assaulting...
Read moreI went in to have my wedding dress hemmed and to have little hooks added onto the straps (I have a back piece for my dress). I asked the lady to keep the extra fabric from my dress because I was planning on using it. A few weeks later I come in to pick up my dress and try it on. They hemmed it perfectly, but they adjusted the straps and made them SO much shorter and they never added the hooks onto the straps. I was very upset because I never had asked for the straps to be adjusted, they were just supposed to be making hooks with thread for my back piece to hook onto. I asked the lady if she had adjusted the straps, and she kept insisting that she didnât. My mom looked in the back of my dress and could clearly see the excess straps tucked into the dress, which we pointed out the lady. She kept insisting that she didnât touch it. YES YOU DID. I started to tear up, obviously a little emotional because this is my wedding dress and I had flown into town to have it altered. The lady proceeded to tell me that âitâs not a big dealâ and Iâm like yes itâs my wedding dress, itâs a big deal to me. She then said that she could fix it for me that same day and I could come back in 30 minutes to pick it up. She proceed to ask how long I wanted the strapsâŠ. I told her I want them exactly as they were when I dropped it off, because there was nothing wrong with them! So I come back and try it on and they were able to fix it, thank god. The thread hooks that they added on took some adjusting to get them just right. As I was getting ready to leave I asked them for my extra fabric from my dress. She said there wasnât any, that she only took about an inch off the bottom so there was nothing to keep. Which was 100000% false, at least 5 inches, probably more, was taken off the bottom of my dress. I showed her a picture of myself in the dress so that she could see that she clearly took more than an inch off the hem. She looked for the fabric and was unable to find it. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this service. She had told me they always keep the fabricâŠwell apparently not. I would not recommend this place!! Glad they were able to make the corrections to fix my dress the same day, but highly dissatisfied that they didnât keep the extra fabric from my $3000 dress. Awful experience and extra stress that was not needed leading up...
Read moreAJ Alterations is the only place I will be taking things for alterations. I had a custom tux made for me a few years ago and needed to get it altered before my wedding. Before getting AJ's help, I went to the manufacturer to get the tux jacket and pants let out. They told me they would let it out as much as they could, and when I received it from the manufacturer, it was hardly any different than before.
I then took it to AJ's in a last ditch effort to see what all they could do. The staff at AJ's were incredibly helpful, taking their time in assessing what all could be done to help me fit in my tux. After going through my tux in detail, they told me they could make it work. They spent an entire Sunday (when their store was closed for business) working on my tux and when I came back to try it on, it was if I had bought an entire new tux.
The pants that once barely closed around my waist now felt comfortable, the jacket that I couldn't lift my arms in all of the sudden fit perfectly. In fact, they did such a good job that I had to have them take it back in a touch...after the manufacturer of the tux had told me they did "all they could do" originally. Keep in mind, this was all done 3 weeks before my wedding. Before AJ's, I wasn't sure whether I would have to get a brand new tux...however, the woman at AJ's certainly lived up to her promise when she told me she was going to make sure my tux would fit perfectly for my wedding day, even staying well past closing time to make sure she had looked at every inch of my tux to get it where it needed to be. I'll note that they also put my tux at the top of the line to make sure I got it back with enough time to make alternative arrangements if necessary. They're busy at AJ's, but they do it right.
My fiancé and I are absolutely thrilled, and I will never go anywhere else to have my clothes altered. I can't recommend...
