Review for J, the Manager at Alon's in Atlanta
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Alon's in Atlanta, and I must commend J, the manager, for providing an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, J's warm welcome set the tone for a wonderful evening. His professionalism and genuine passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction.
J's attention to detail was impeccable. He ensured that our table was perfectly set, and our needs were anticipated before we even had to ask. Throughout the meal, he checked in just the right amount, making sure everything was to our satisfaction without being intrusive.
What truly stood out was J's knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu. He offered insightful recommendations that catered to our tastes and dietary preferences, enhancing our dining experience significantly. His suggestions were spot-on, and we were delighted with every dish we tried.
Moreover, J's ability to handle a busy restaurant with grace and efficiency was impressive. Despite the bustling atmosphere, he maintained a calm demeanor and ensured that all guests received the same high level of service. It was clear that he leads his team by example, fostering a culture of excellence and dedication.
In conclusion, J's outstanding management skills and unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction make Alon's a standout dining destination in Atlanta. I highly recommend visiting Alon's and experiencing J's exceptional service firsthand. He truly goes above and beyond to create a memorable...
Read moreAkon’s Bakery and Cafe is a nice place to enjoy a quick meal or pastry in a pretty location. The cafe is located at the corner of Phipp’s Plaza Mall in Buckhead and the cafe can be accessed from the street.
The cafe is modern, pretty, and there are plenty of tables to eat, meet with people, or study at. The bakery goods are delightful, but lean on the pricey side. I tried the Pistachio Croissant, Chocolate Praline, and Almond Croissant, and all of the pastries were fresh, crisp, and delicious. I loved how they weren’t cloyingly sweet and were so crisp and flaky - they even stayed crisp and delicious overnight! We also tried the Beef Hash and Lentil soup, and while they were good, they were also pretty salty.
The only complaint is that the service was only okay. The check out staff weren’t very friendly and I didn’t like how one was particularly detached when speaking with her. She didn’t give me my receipt when I requested one on the terminal, and she huffed like I was terribly inconveniencing here to print one out. It just seemed like most of the service staff I encountered were worn out.
Overall, the pastries were good enough to come back to get again if I’m in the area. It’s a nice chill cafe with...

ONLY when went to put in this small (relative to our usual) order did I find out via their checkout system I needed to place the order at 3PM the day prior, and that's with a lofty $30 delivery fee I would have been paying on top of the $20 per person sandwiches. I called desperate and they told me I could go into any location to order, but that was a bit insulting as I don't order online for delivery when I can go somewhere to order lunch for multiple people. That "alternative option" was useless to me.
Look, I realize that you need to manage kitchen capacity. Word of advice, as Alon's is now OFF my order list for lunches going forward (that'll lose them thousands of dollars a quarter), MAKE IT OBVIOUS that you require orders to be placed by 3PM the day before on the website. I checked, I couldn't find such a notice anywhere logical, only when I go to check out in little red text. Unacceptable. I now look like an idiot amongst the peers from out of town who requested a local source for lunch, and now we are off to a boring chain restaurant who will...
