This was one of the worst hotel stays I have encountered. My wife and I stayed at this hotel through a family member booking. As it was off-season, the hotel seemed like it should have ample rooms available. Upon getting in our room, the TV would not connect to anything (kept buffering). There were two separate TV remotes with no instructions on which to use to properly connect to TV. I am pretty tech-savvy and tried everything to connect. I go to call the front desk for help and the phone was dead! Had to call hotel via my cellphone and after waiting sometime for someone to answer, which no one ever did, had to walk down to the desk to report issue and a maintenance worker showed up a short time later. At 7:30am the next morning, construction workers were grinding and drilling the concrete floor in the room next to ours making a teeth-chattering racket. (Why would you assign a room next to construction in a hotel with room availability!). Person at front desk shrugged and said they were working on floor to repair a loose wall! Went down to have breakfast in restaurant and it was closed due to off season. Complimentary coffee in lobby was either missing or empty half the time. Only thing available was a terrible breakfast sandwich under a heat lamp and orange juice which cost $37 for two people. Mattress was hard as a rock. The next day, we went to the room to take a nap at 3PM before an evening party that night and this time, construction workers were making a racket working on the roof above our room (are they doing this on purpose?) :- ( They did halt them after we called the front desk. Icing on the cake came yesterday when we got a late bill for $120 for three days parking! The management of this hotel should be ashamed of...
Read moreI cannot remember the last time I left a bad review for anything but I will for this unfortunate situation. I made reservations for the weekend of January 7th for my wife and I to have a ski getaway. Unfortunately she came down with Covid. I have stayed at the Charter often for summer and winter activities and have been pleased. When I called a week before our trip to inform them and move our trip to another weekend I was told that it was non-refundable. As a past customer and considering that I was planning to hold an event with around 100 people at the Charter in the fall of this year to please reconsider...considering the extreme circumstances of our new Covid world. I was told that someone would get back with me which did not happen. So I had to call again the next day and was put on hold and told the same thing. The manager there made the decision to loose a loyal customer and a large future event and ding my family with the $900 dollars. I travel almost weekly and can say that all of the hotels I stay at and even the airlines offer credit towards missed bookings in these current times. I am a business man and will never understand a company sticking by a no refund policy at the expense of future revenue. Now being a guy with pretty good math skills...I will be capping my event at 100 people. And let's say the average room is only $250 in the fall. At two nights that is $50,000. Not to mention the revenue my wealthy clients would bring to Beaver Creek and or future trips back by any of them or myself. But hey what do I know lol. Vail Colorado will be the venue. Thank you Charter for helping me to make my decisions easy for...
Read moreThe Charter was in a great location close to everything. Beaver Creek Village is a quick 5 minute walk that puts you in the heart of everything. I have read some reviews that stated the rooms were outdated. We did not experience that at all. The rooms we booked were G130 and G135 and they were lovely, modern, fully renovated recently, and very well equipped. When booking your room on the Charter website they provide full photos of each unit so you can literally see what your exact unit looks like in the photos. I have no idea how people in this forum can write that they were “surprised” when they checked in. My advice, look at the unit photos, book based on those, and you most likely won’t be disappointed. The Charter is also very close to the Elkhorn, Centennial, and Strawberry Park Express lifts. The Elkhorn lift is right behind building F and G and is less than 3 minutes to walk down to that lift. It was closed as we were there early in the Season and the mountain was 30% open. But, in the middle of the season when open, it’s very convenient. The Centennial lift is a 3-5 minute shuttle ride and the free shuttle can be ordered “on demand” and we didn’t have to wait longer than 3-5 minutes to get a shuttle anywhere during our entire stay. The lobby area and bar/restaurant looked nice but we never ate there. I would definitely recommend the Charter for you and your family. It was our first stay in Beaver Creek and we would not hesitate to book there again...
